Part melodic piano driven indie rock and part disarmingly carefree guitar pop comes Giants, the latest “gigantic” tune from rising LA indie band Sure Sure. The genre bending group delight us with their boisterous and vivacious gem, a much needed summery frolic. Giants celebrates the simple joy of life, and it instantaneously places us in a jovial mood. Giants, along with 4 other unreleased tracks and a collection of their singles from the past year, encapsulate the band’s full length debut, available now digitally and on vinyl during their national U.S. tour with another band IHM is much enamored with, Hippo Campus. You can stream Sure Sure’s self titled debut full length on Soundcloud, here, or Spotify, here. Find out about their tour, here.

The Savoir Adore set I caught at the Neon Gold Showcase at SXSW was one of the liveliest, most ravishing performances I experienced that week. They were even better than the last time I saw them in San Francisco a few years back. On August 19th, they make their way back to my hood, and they’ll be performing that evening alongside SOFI TUKKER and Paperwhite, too. This is a Popscene I simply cannot miss. The Brooklyn indie pop outfit revealed a music video today for previously shared rapturous alt pop song Giants. There’s no shying away from re-visiting this infectious sparkling gem, whose regal thundering drums, luscious pulsing synths, and sweet soaring melody make this Passion Pit and Panama Wedding like song utterly irresistible. Savoir Adore’s Paul explains that the song is about “letting go of your insecurities – transcending your physical self and finding strength in your true identity”. The band’s struggle to break free of a dark vacuum in Giants’ new video is a visual translation of that meaning.

Giants is a colossal treat from Savoir Adore’s new album, The Love That Remains, out August 12th.

There’s a remix package out and about for Brooklyn indie pop duo Savoir Adore’s synth resplendent, glistening radiant beauty, Giants, one that includes five edits by various producers and fellow indie acts. Being a massive future vibes head myself, I couldn’t help but gravitate towards Finnish producer Lenno’s sleek buoyant remix. Lenno gives Giants a rich chopping, agile slicing future disco remake, and I can’t help but want to bounce along to it for the rest of my glorious Friday night. You can stream the full Giants remix package on Soundcloud.

Brooklyn indie pop duo Savoir Adore are proving themselves a must catch at SXSW later this month with their latest music, a welcome return after 2014 album Our Nature, a release I was so excited about I even contributed to it’s inception via PledgeMusic. On new song Giants, Savoir Adore goes monumentally massive indeed. Giants is wildly infectious, a pulsating mass of radiant synthpop that ruptures with vibrant glee, its glistening vigor a hooking combination of Passion Pit and Panama Wedding. It’s no wonder at all that Savoir Adore has been included in NPR’s SXSW preview feature, The Austin 100. Savoir Adore will be going on tour across the States after they finish up in Austin.

I think it’s safe to say that I love anything and everything that involves Australia’s Josef Salvat, be it his solo songs, his incredible collaboration with Tourist and Niia, or this new gem. Throwback is the third song from new British duo GIANTS, and it features, of course, Josef Salvat, with his smooth, mesmerizing crooning. Throwback is a pensive stunner, full of lush layers of production and grandly textured soundscape. If an electronic pop song can be cinematic and orchestral, then this is certainly that. Magnificently sultry and soulful, its a Son Lux meets Fyfe blend, doused heavily in spacious, dynamic future pop production.

I’ve been a long time fan of Brooklyn indie rockers Bear Hands (though I missed their set at Outside Lands Music Festival this past weekend, my apologies). I did catch them live at Popscene recently, and they were fantastic. Off their album Distraction is Giants, one of my favorites off the release and possibly the most upbeat and danciest Bear Hands track yet. While already upbeat and vibrant, the song has received a remix treatment by popular Swedish producer Adrian Lux that raises the dance energy level and speeds up the beats even more.

Extending those summery vibes with this new remix by Le P, who lists both Honolulu and Norway as his location. I guess he’s a jet setter? Surprisingly, he’s chosen Brooklyn indie rock band Bear Hands’ excellent single Giants for the remix. And surprisingly, the nu-disco and electro beats work dang well with the infectious song. The catchy, hooking vocals are left untouched for the most part, but they’re now paired with glowing, buoyant production. For another fantastic remix by Le P, who’s new on my radar today, check out his sweet tropical take on rising soulful Swedish songstress Seinabo Sey’s Hard Time.

OFFICIAL VID: Bear Hands – Giants

I’m very much enjoying Bear Hands’ sophomore album Distraction, which just dropped recently. On it is their insanely infectious single Giants, and today, the Brooklyn indie rock band released a video for the warm tune. It’s one of many favorites of mine off the new album. One other track I really gravitate towards is Bone Digger, which immensely reminds me of 2010 debut album tune Crime Pays. That was the song that first got me into Bear Hands. This April, I get to see Bear Hands live at Popscene in SF, and it’s been a long time coming.
