We’re just under a month out from the arrival of Geowulf’s much anticipated debut full length, Great Big Blue, and our hearts are fluttering with excitement for its impending release. In fact, our hearts nearly flutter right up to the heavens as the Londoners grace us with another fine exhibit of dreamy lush indie pop on new single Sunday. We find ourselves drifting to the relaxed languor of Sunday, a song that reminds us of how bittersweet that day of the week can be. On the one hand, it’s a day when we can sleep late in bed, or take a walk on the beach with our loved ones. On the other hand, we can’t help but recall that Monday is just around the corner, and the weekend’s about to end. Geowulf’s Sunday, like many of the project’s divine prior gems, is like Cults’ retro-pop fused with Yumi Zouma’s gauzy nostalgia and Tennis’ indie pop. Debut album Great Big Blue arrives on February 16th via 37 Adventures. Pre-order, here. You can stream/download Sunday, here.

‘Hideaway’ is the last thing I want to do when there’s immense new music from Geowulf to enjoy, unless of course, I get to take the British outfit with me. The Londoners leave our pulses racing with news of a debut album, as well as steals our very hearts away again with their vintage soul speckled beach pop on new single Hideaway. Debut album Great Big Blue arrives February 16th on 37 Adventures, and our excitement can’t be more intense after we’ve wagged our heads and closed our eyes to the crunchy guitars, lilting beat, and sun-kissed pop of the pair’s new single. Imagine early Cults’ retro-pop blended with some of Yumi Zouma’s hazy nostalgic dream pop, and you might arrive at something as fancifully charming as Hideaway. Stream/download the single, here, and pre-order debut album Great Big Blue, here.

I’m no alcoholic, but drinking too much is still something I could certainly work on some nights when I head out on the town. Fortunately for me, I’m a very happy and affable drinker, not one of those mischievous trouble makers or a glum buzz kill. The condition serves us fine inspiration for Geowulf’s new single, Drink Too Much, an enchanting guitar pop piece with frisky rolling percussion and iridescent vocals. Drink Too Much is a song that melds the playful spirit of Peter Bjorn and John’s most beloved songs with the shimmering dreaminess of Yumi Zouma. London based Australian duo Geowulf, comprised of Star Kendrick and Toma Banjanin, explain of their song: “Bulk red wine + tired relationships = bad news baby.” But bulk red wine by itself with no relationships is perfectly fine, right guys? Drink Too Much is out today via 37 Adventures.

London’s Geowulf just unveiled their four track EP Relapse this week, from which we’ve already shared three of its tunes. The final piece to be revealed from the excellent release is a dreamy glistening, feathery shimmering indie pop gem named Get You, which arrives with an endearing visual accompaniment. We find ourselves swaying yet again to Geowulf’s infectious hooks and sun kissed synths, which we never seem to get enough of despite all our obsessive listening. Stream Geowulf’s Relapse EP in full on Soundcloud, here. The EP is out via 37 Adventures.

If you’re into the organic strings and reverb heavy atmosphere of The xx as well as the pulsing grandeur of Avec Sans and the beachy, gazey dreaminess of Mazzy Star or Yumi Zouma, you’re going to fall ever so deeply in love with Geowulf’s latest charmer. The duo from London presents us with pure intoxicating decadence on Won’t Look Back, a golden lush vortex of angsty burning passion and synth swelling extravagance. Geowulf explains that Won’t Look Back is about “trying to look forward and deciding to be excited about what might be next.” I know what I’m excited for next.. whatever else Geowulf has up their sleeves for their next release. In the meantime, we can purchase their latest single from major outlets, here.

Geowulf quickly rocketed to the top of tastemakers’ ones to watch list earlier this year with their intoxicating debut, Saltwater. Today, they prove our ears right with a glistening second single named Don’t Talk About You. Though the London based duo labeled their song as “beach pop”, Don’t Talk About You is so much more than that. It boasts a Lucius like retro soulfulness alongside its luscious Yumi Zouma dreaminess. This shiny luxuriant indie pop twirler can be purchased from major outlets, here.
