A slew of mighty fine debuts have been rolling in just ahead of summer. Case in point, Olloway, a Vancouver-based electronic band who’s burst out of the gates with a gooey melting debut single named August. Olloway, formerly known as EDM duo FYKA, has crafted a song that redefines genres with its visionary blend of organic electronica and heartfelt alt pop. The duo has carved out their own irresistible niche in the scene with their airy synths, impassioned guitars, and fleecy vocals. Olloway’s first song is reminiscent of A R I Z O N A or Mansionair, deeply permeated with dewy-eyed sentiment but heavily punctuated by incendiary junctures and a Porter Robinson-like ethereal electronic bridge. August is the first release off their debut EP, expected this summer. Download August for free, here, as we await more from the fascinating new project.

Vancouver duo FYKA give Norwegian duo Pegboard Nerds’ Max Collins featuring anthem, Pink Cloud, a stately makeover that’ll rocket us all to the sky with its surging beauty. The remix’s melodic trilling and craggy cliffs of grandeur take us on a breathtaking progressive and electro adventure bedecked with epic vistas and sweeping emotion. If it’s a feel good tune you’re aching for, this one’s going to fix everything and leave you riding on a wave of euphoria. FYKA’s remix is part of a Pink Cloud remix package available now on iTunes.

After the flood of Chandelier remixes died down, the remixes of Elastic Heart have been picking up, and considering my love of the tune, I’m not one to complain. A massive edit of the Sia hit comes by way of New York’s ALMOND, who teams back up with Canadian duo FYKA for the remix. If you want feel good vibes and blissed out feels, ALMOND and FYKA have you covered on this spirited progressive house remix. It comes off triumphant and majestic, in a somewhat Porter Robinson like way.

It’s been over a month since VÉRITÉ dropped her spectacular debut EP Echo. On it is the gorgeous and upbeat electronic pop ballad Weekend. A song as mellifluous as this, carrying as sparkling and beautiful vocals as VÉRITÉ’s, is perfect for remixing into an uplifting, euphoric progressive house track. That’s exactly what New York producer ALMOND and his buddies Canadian duo FYKA did with the tune, creating a feel good experience that reminds me of Zedd’s Clarity. The talented acts worked from scratch, utilizing the acapella vocals and building off of it.
