Not long ago, I shared the great dreamy Futile Devices cover by Sister Crayon. Now, Michigan producer Shigeto, aka Zach Saginaw, brings us a very textured, brilliant remix of the Sufjan Stevens masterpiece. This is definitely going on my to-be-listened-with-quality headphones list. Very, very well done!

I previously gushed about the Sufjan Stevens cover Sister Crayon put forth and commented on how gutsy it was to do such a thing. Now, there’s a video for the dreamy pop version of the brilliant song by the well respected musician. Of course, though the cover is incredible, the original is untouchable. Sufjan Stevens is a god. Wait.. ok… no, but he’s amazing. A music god? =)

It takes some balls to cover Sufjan Stevens, and Sister Crayon covered Futile Devices nicely. The Sacramento indie band’s sound fits the song very well with their soulful electric sound, creating a slightly dreamier pop take. The vocals are soft and soothing. Just for good measure, here’s Mr. Stevens’ original work of art…
