Slick synth tendrils and waxy robust, lustrous oozing vocals take our breath away on Loud Magic, a glamorous prowling new song from nomadic pop duo Foreign Air. The silence-breaker and pattern-destroyer truly lives up to its name with its resounding assertiveness. Loud Magic is the latest magnificent single from the forward thinking pair, who have a knack for crafting haute anthems permeated with sleek, potent electronica. Loud Magic is emphatic and indulgent. It’s a song of excess, debauchery, and revelry, or a pagan canticle that’s near convinced us to worship Foreign Air as gods. They must live up in those very clouds we’re stretching so far to reach while urged on by this charged sonic catalyst. Foreign Air embarked today on tour with another IHM favorite, Bishop Briggs. Loud Magic can be streamed/downloaded, here.

Deep rumbling, wavey viscous Chakra Daemon is a more than inebriating new song from Foreign Air, the forward thinking “nomadic” duo who’s been making an indelible mark in the indie/alt scene with their music these past couple of years. There’s a gloomy overcast quality to the tightly woven song’s slurring synths and dark electronic pulses. Chakra Daemon is a more than potent and heady track inspired by discourse raising topics like evolution and bio-mechanics. Chakra Daemon also pulls from an unlikely source – the ubiquitous email bounce back bot “Mailer Daemon,” in a comment on how so much of one’s daily routine is heaped in negative, harmful energy. We can’t help but dig the darker, electro heavy vibes that Foreign Air is slinging on their new song. The duo just wrapped up a short stint supporting Bishop Briggs, and they’ll be begining a new co-headlining run of dates with SHAED on November 30th in Chicago. Nomadic duo Foreign Air has dazzled us with their very first singles, Free Animal and In The Shadows, and now they’re gearing up for the release of a debut EP. They continue to make an impression with the third track off that record, Echo, a resolute clattering, bold driving alt and electro pop anthem full of massive hooks and dance ready energy. The slink of Glass Animals and the gloss of Portugal. the Man meets electrifying, pumping FMLYBND on the tenacious anthem. Foreign Air’s debut EP drops September 23rd. The duo will be playing an album release show with Popshop at Baby’s Alright in Brooklyn on September 22nd followed by a North American tour this October with The Strumbellas.

Foreign Air had me thoroughly thrilled with their debut just a few short months ago, delivering much intriguing and unique indie rock and electronic music on debut single Free Animal. The American duo now follow up on that gem with another sublime specimen named In The Shadows, a pensive yet plucky song that once again necessitates comparison to slinky Glass Animals and experimental Alt-J, alongside a Portugal. the Man glossiness. On In The Shadows, Foreign Air details the moment when a past relationship becomes a collage of memories hidden away. In The Shadows proves that Free Animal was no fluke. The pair are an obvious new indie force to watch. A debut EP will be arriving later this spring.

A new duo named Foreign Air had me grinning ear to ear and nearly jumping out of my skin with delight with one of the best debuts I’ve encountered this month. Free Animal is the first taste of the indie rock and electronic project’s lush instrumentation and catchy melodies, delivered in a jagged Alt-J cadence and with a Glass Animals slinkiness. It’s a song that growls with a power both seductive and ferocious. Foreign Air has my full attention as they prepare to release a debut EP in February of 2016.
