Philadelphia trap, grime, and hip hop expert Baauer unites with Canadian turntablist and producer A-Trak on a surprise two track EP to go along with the big announcement of their B2B tour together. That’s right. Baauer. A-Trak. Together. The two celebrated producers meld their individual styles on Dumbo Drop, a hypnotic bass thumper that lurks in the shadows, or on a dark basement dance floor. For a funky vivacious jungle tease, dive into the other track on the EP below. Fern Gully is a lush sonic oasis, one which you won’t be able to resist shaking your booty to, all night long. Both tracks are out now on Fool’s Gold Records. Stream/purchase, here.

Quite frankly, I’m still stuck on Jack River’s Palo Alto, which was our very first introduction to the fast rising Australian singer songwriter last year. I just can’t get enough of its dusty weathered, sultry gusting rock. You can re-visit the song’s video, here. Jack River has since released another gem of a tune, for which she’s dropped a video, too. Fool’s Gold takes us back to the late 90′s and early 2000′s yet again with its crunchy driving pop rock. The just as hooking anthem is about, what else, but “fool’s gold”, or how we chase after things thinking they’re gold when they’re not. You can stream or purchase Fool’s Gold, here.

There isn’t a more appropriate name for this conflagration of talent than Bullseye. OWSLA favorites Anna Lunoe, Valentino Khan, and Wuki forge a three way symbiosis of epic proportions on this gritty whomping, steely lurching spectacular. Plenty of filthy bass and punchy electro endow this eye widening, adrenaline pumping experience. An interesting dichotomy is achieved when those aforementioned visceral elements are paired with Anna Lunoe’s dreamy sleek vocals. Turns out, a heavy hitting banger like this can be both relentlessly driving and dulcet euphonious. So go ahead, “pull the trigger” and blast Bullseye loud. Shake those floorboards, have a Wednesday night dance party. Bullseye is even a free download, here.

I’ve always had a thing for castles. Regardless of their true history, they tend to represent romance and escapades, fairy tales and ‘prince charmings’. It’s a very different sort of “castles” that Atlanta’s BOSCO brings us on her new single. She links up with emerging Atlanta duo St Beauty (signed to Janelle Monáe’s label Wondaland) on Castles, a spunky sleek future R&B jam. Along with the song comes an eye popping music video that adds a visual element to the chic styling tune. The forward thinking R&B single is out now on Fool’s Gold. Purchase or stream via alternate outlets, here.

Athens, GA indie duo Chapel arrived but a few short months ago with their debut single, Caught Up, a must listen if you haven’t checked it out yet (stream below). Though I managed to let that one slip by till now, the pair’s new single Fool’s Gold is sure as hell not getting past me. I gleefully coral it in for a must share. Fool’s Gold is a wildly infectious pop punk meets alt pop anthem from Carter Hardin (ex-Nightmares) and Kortney Grinwis (ex-Favorite Weapon), who have obviously hit on a miraculous recipe together as Chapel. This must pay heed new band will be touring with Waterparks and Too Close To Touch during February 9-13 and March 4-8.

Norwegian born London based pop starlet Dagny has returned with her second single, and she’s even partnered up with brilliant Børns on Fool’s Gold. It doesn’t take long once you dive into this one to know Fool’s Gold is a massive pop anthem. It marches triumphantly and soars fearlessly, rendering me a fool for Dagny all over again. It’s also a rare treat to hear Børns guest on a song, and his verse is glossy exhilarating. Fool’s Gold launches us to high peaks of ecstasy. It’s an unforgettable ballad from Dagny’s debut EP due out August 4th via Republic. Lest you forgot how fierce and arresting Dagny’s debut song Backbeat is, let’s revisit the vibrant animation of the song below. Dagny cements herself as an artist to watch with two marvelous tunes.

Another sensational remix of A-Trak’s Phantogram featuring hit Parallel Lines has surfaced, and this time, its roots lie right here in the gorgeous Bay, too. San Francisco’s BLU J take us on a florescent reverie with the mysterious duo’s lithe bouncing, supple buoyant summer dance remix. The deep future house vibes are strong on this invigorating new rendition of the song, a dazzling soiree that ripples and jars in a gloriously sweeping manner. Who says vibrant can’t be meditative or rapturous can’t be ruminant? It’s a rather profound and exhilarating sort of dance party that BLU J ignites with this official re-work, which will be on the Parallel Lines remixes package out July 1st on A-Trak’s imprint Fool’s Gold. Head to iTunes to purchase the remix.

I would count any day with a double dose of Phantogram a very marvelous one, and that’s the sort of day we’ve had today. Not only did we get a brand new Phantogram single, which I shared earlier tonight, we now get to have our brain rattled by a remix of A-Trak’s Phantogram featuring hit Parallel Lines by legendary dance punk and electro house purveyors, MSTRKRFT. These parallel lines aren’t exactly running parallel anymore on MSTRKRFT’s trippy revision. They’re squiggly and angular. They twist and turn, coiling back on themselves, amplified menacingly in an acid burnt techno fashion by Al-P and Jesse F. Keeler. The dark hypnotic remix comes from a Parallel Lines remix package to be released on Fool’s Gold June 1st. Head to iTunes to grab the track.

In my opinion, anything that involves Phantogram and Sarah Barthel’s satin voice is an ace in the hole, be it a project with Big Boi, a song with Skrillex, or in this case, a song with A-trak. Parallel Lines sees the two pairing up for a mellifluous smooth jam, a gliding feel good banger that mixes guitar riffs with A-Trak’s signature turntable inspired production. The genre defying song premiered as the World Record on Zane Lowe’s Beats1 show. Parallel Lines will likely be one of the summer’s hottest radio friendly electronic records, too. The single drops May 20th on Fool’s Gold. Pre-order now from iTunes.

Los Angeles’ Hoodboi recently teamed up with NY duo ASTR on an intensive trap and inebriating electro song named Closer. Danish producer ELOQ gives Closer an official makeover full of regal magnificence. While the original boasted crisp marching beats, ELOQ’s remix is more arched and fluid, its trap an undulating ocean of deep waves building up to a massive crest and a tidal wave drop. Pitch shifted vocals give this Closer a sleek evening soulfulness. ELOQ’s take on the track will be on a Closer remix package out this month on Fools Gold. The original is available now on iTunes.
