Whethan (formerly known as Wheathin when we first picked up on his talent) has been a man of the hour when it comes to red hot collaborations and exhilarating anthems. He’s been warming the cockles of the heart with frisky lifting, dulcet playful tunes alongside Oliver Tree, and let’s not forget his sensational single Savage which features legendary bass producer Flux Pavilion and MAX as guests. That brusque lurching tune gets a thorough transformation on a new remix by fellow Chicago resident and electronic artist Will Crockford, who turns Savage into a glossy sleek, cool glistening, and vibrant chopping future bass opus. As much as I love the bass buzzing original and its heavier hitting dubstep atmosphere, I can’t help but adore this effervescent future re-work, too. It’s right up my alley. Whethan, fka Wheathin, couldn’t have chose a better name for his crushing new track, Savage. The Chicago native effuses the jam with carnal fire. He’s also linked up with legendary UK bass producer Flux Pavilion and New York’s MAX on the robust sawing dazzler. We’ve known for some time now that Whethan was on the up and up. I was even more convinced after seeing him light it up in San Francisco earlier this year. Whethan’s crisp and clean new tune is but more colossal evidence of this fast rising electronic star’s sonic aptitude. The world is this prodigy’s oyster. I hold Joshua Steele, aka UK bass prodigy Flux Pavilion, in very high regard. After all, he shaped my taste in electronic music some years back, and helped to ignite my love of dubstep, too. The arrival of a collaboration between Flux Pavilion and madly popular production whiz NGHTMRE is logically cause for great excitement, and Feel Your Love, which features Jamie Lewis, turned out to be well worthy of that flushed gaiety. Feel Your Love is a booming berserk display of both producer’s exhilarating styles, a steely dubstep and bass rattling dance blowout. Snag the grandiose banger from various outlets, here.

Flux Pavilion’s I Can’t Stop holds a special place in my heart, having had a huge effect on the progression of my electronic music taste as one of the most massively hooking dubstep hits of the early 2010′s. Apparently, the same holds true for many of the talented producers thrilling our ears today. Canada’s Ekali offers up a tribute of sorts by remixing I Can’t Stop and giving it a Flume reminiscent future trap grandeur. It’s a cinematic revisit of a timeless jam and a dramatic sonic adventure. OFFICIAL VID: Flux Pavilion feat. Steve Aoki – Steve French

November 9, 2013

Seeing as it’s Friday, it’s only right to post a high energy banger. The new animated video for electronic producer Flux Pavilion’s Steve French, which features the great Steve Aoki, is a colorful extravaganza filled with cute creatures. It’s right up my alley. The song is chock full of hard hits and drops. Steve French is off Flux’s new Freeway EP out next Monday, November 11. There’s no falling asleep to this one. If Flux plus Aoki isn’t some sheer electric madness, then what is? TGIF, folks! Have a fun and safe weekend. Maybe I’ll see you around.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a real banger, but here’s a little something to satisfy that hunger in you. Electronic producer Flux Pavilion normally puts out some wild drops and heavy basslines, but this one’s more of a French electro house track, good for those that love Daft Punk, Justice, and other French house magicians. In fact, it’s SUPER French. I Feel It is off an 8 track EP titled Blow The Roof which Joshua Steele will release on January 28. Blow The Roof will feature some wicked collaborations, even including a track with Childish Gambino.

OFFICIAL VID: Major Lazer – Jah No Partial

December 15, 2012

Diplo dropped his video for Jah No Partial, which features dubstep producer Flux Pavilion. It also includes reggae samples from Johnny Osbourne. It’s one of those live footage videos which captures a bit of the crazy, insane energy that explodes at Major Lazer shows. I guess this is a good one for a Friday. Run the track!!!!!!
