OFFICIAL VID: Atoms For Peace – Before Your Very Eyes

October 17, 2013

I’m seeing Thom Yorke’s supergroup Atoms For Peace in two days at Treasure Island Music Festival. It’s going to be a heckuva headlining night set. In fitting fashion, the band released a hypnotizing stop motion animation video for Before Your Very Eyes off of critically acclaimed album Amok. Thom Yorke tweeted “Aaah Blinkin’ Hollywood” about the video, which is supposed to be some sort of hint for how to watch it. I don’t think I quite get it. I just sat here like an idiot in my office blinking and fluttering my eyelids at my computer while my co-workers walked by. Am I missing something? It makes the stop motion animation flow smoothly. Everything seems to go faster, too. Is that it? Ahh, now my eyes hurt. Alright, I’m just going to enjoy the experimental track before I lose a contact lens.

OFFICIAL VID: Atoms For Peace – Judge Jury and Executioner

January 8, 2013

Thom Yorke fans, rejoice. His superband Atoms for Peace (project with Nigel Godrich, Flea, and many others) previewed a new click clackitty vocal heavy track today titled Judge Jury and Executioner. It’s slated for release on 12" vinyl on March 19 along with a B-side titled S.A.D. off XL. A hypnotizing, screensaver like clip directed by Tarik Barri was also released. Radiohead and Yorke fans will not be disappointed with this new trip hoppy track. It might be the most impressive Atoms for Peace song I’ve heard from them yet.

What the Eyeballs Did

November 2, 2012

Hmm. I don’t know. What did the eyeballs do? Let’s listen in to this radio rip and see! What The Eyeballs Did is the latest song previewed from supergroup Atoms for Peace. The Thom Yorke project, as most of us know, features the likes of Nigel Godrich (boy is he keeping busy these days), Flea, and Joey Waronker. The song is dark and electric as expected. It’s moody and meditative with some sick synths. So, what did the eyeballs do??? Did anyone figure that out?

The super group, with members including Thom Yorke, Flea, and Nigel Godrich, has released another hot single. The new song is titled Default, and it’s a wicked collaboration filled with Thom Yorke’s trippy electronica rock sound and style. Rocket Juice and the Moon previews

November 1, 2011

By now, a large number of you must have heard about the collaboration between Damon Albarn, Flea and Tony Allen (drummer from Fela Kuti). Together as a new group, they call themselves Rocket Juice and the Moon. How many projects does Damon Albarn have going on at ONE moment in time anyway? The guy’s going down as a major legend, that’s for sure. He’s far away from the Blur days now. Rocket Juice and the Moon previewed several tracks live at some live events in Europe, and here’s some acceptably lower quality live recordings. Very funky, retro, worldly, dance-hall-ish, super-Damon Albarn-heavy sound. Whatcha think?
