Two superb acts originally from San Francisco unite on this sick remix that I’ve been feverishly eager to share with you. As a long time fan of Flaxo’s dramatic production style, I’m more than elated that he applies it generously to Lily Elise’s melancholic but powerful ballad Taken, produced by Felix Snow. Flaxo transforms the song into an intricately brooding and deeply haunting future bass slinker. The riveting remix carries flickers of suspenseful piano, which only add to its ominous, uneasy atmosphere. The dark production is interwoven with Lily Elise’s spellbinding, resonating vocals. This union of Flaxo and Lily Elise reminds me of another collaboration and track I’m obsessively infatuated with, What So Not and George Maple’s Gemini. The original Taken is from Lily Elise’s debut EP, to be released this summer.

If you’ve ever wondered what kind of astronomical force would be created if Los Angeles’ Le Youth and San Francisco native Flaxo were to meet in the middle, you’re about to get your answer. Le Youth’s Touch gets a healthy infusion of Flaxo’s future bass style on a dramatic remix. The two producer’s tones seem to play on each other perfectly. Piano laden summery house weds itself to Flaxo’s textured, bold atmosphere in a bubbly, ethereal combo of transcendental nirvana.

Flaxo, the San Francisco producer now based mostly in NYC, offered up a spectacular remix of Young The Giant’s Mind Over Matter. I think I’ve mentioned it plenty of times before, but Mind Over Matter is my absolute top favorite tune off of Young The Giant’s sophomore album (and the title track, to boot). It was quite a sublime experience to hear it again live the other day at Live 105’s Not So Silent Night event. Flaxo takes that already potent tune and gives it a massive infusion of extra epicness, inserting a myriad of elements on the mind boggling, soul lifting blend of indie alt and subtle future bass. The track builds and builds and builds cinematically. It’s one of the more satisfying and unique remixes of late.

It’s been some months since we’ve heard anything new from New York based San Francisco producer Flaxo, and trust me, I’ve been wondering often what he’s been up to. Finally, the talented producer who’s been thrilling my ears with his chill trap and future bass tunes for a year now is back! In fact, he’s remixed rising Austrlian electronic alt pop artist Troye Sivan’s Happy Little Pill. It wasn’t long ago I was checking out this kid’s music and noting his huge buzz potential. Flaxo infuses Troye’s tune with plenty of his signature textured, shimmering production and masterful beat crafting, improving on the original, in my opinion.

Continuing this block of awesome, energetic remixes (hey, it’s Friday!) with this new one by San Francisco producer Flaxo, whom I’ve featured many a time in the past with much delight. His latest is a remix of Bingo Players’ hit EDM track Knock You Out. As before, his track is grippingly good, start to finish, with its buoyant blend of electro house and trap flavors. It’s a massive banger, perhaps his most massive yet, and a perfect way to ring in the weekend.

Back to San Francisco we go with this new remix by electronic/hip hop producer Flaxo! Apparently he “got a little tired of making all these dark and melancholy tracks” so he decided to make a “funky summer jam” for us. Hey, Flaxo! I love your dark and melancholic stuff. But you know what? This remix of Outkast’s Ms. Jackson is pretty dope, too! The newly added instrumentals put the track in a whole new, glowing light. And as I mentioned recently, it’s really cool that all these talented producers have been giving us sweet new renditions of some old jams.

Alright, friends, I know I flooded your feed with numerous music shares for hours on end, but here’s one more to close it out for now. Future trap is one of my favorite EDM genres of the moment, and Flaxo is one of my favorite producers from my beloved San Francisco. If you’re ready to rage, tune into Flaxo’s new remix of Zedd’s Find You and turn up! Flaxo’s working on some new original material, but he said it would be fun to give us this rendition of the oh so popular Zedd’s new single. I agree. Excuse me as I dance out the door. As Curry said last night after he cold blood murdered the Mavs with 00.1 secs left in OT, WE OUT. Excuse me, I think I’ve been furiously typing for too long.
