Previously featured NYC by way of the Bay artist Michael Persall now goes by the simple moniker of MICKY, but there’s nothing simple about the soulful rock and electrifying pop that he douses our ears with on his latest single, Fire. A dose of swaggering Motown imbues this sooty sweltering, confident swinging tune, a vibrant eruption of chunky searing guitars and slick strutting vocals. Fire is a more than swoon-worthy rock and roll and soulful pop chimera. The rollicking jam, which is out now via Big Top Amsterdam, is available, here.

We’ve eagerly featured a whole lot of fine tunes from Norwegian synthpop duo Anna Of The North over the past couple of years, but Fire could be one of the pair’s best yet. Anna Of The North will be releasing their debut full length, Lovers, on September 8th, and this ethereal sparkling, icy fluttering new electronic pop gem leaves our hearts palpitating in excitement for the release. Its coruscant production and feathery breeziness is like a breath of fresh air and an infusion of dewy wonder. You can pre-order Lovers, here.

Hotly tipped London based English/Icelandic trio Dream Wife enamored us instantaneously earlier this year with their raspy impassioned, coy teasing single Somebody, a sandy sharp, grungy pounding pop rock song which went on to win over countless hearts in the new music scene. The three piece have now released a worthy follow up to that song. Fire is a scratchy fanged, tartly infectious taste and the title track from Dream Wife’s new EP, out next month. Its a clamorous rocker with angular guitars, punchy pop hooks, and tons of angst ridden punk charm. Dream Wife’s Fire EP will be out on September 29th. Pre-order from Bandcamp, here.

Dublin born producer EMBRZ dropped his highly anticipated EP Progress last Friday on Ultra, which features buzzing hits like Higher and previously shared ethereal lullaby of a gem, Heartlines, featuring Meadowlark. Also on the five track record is this crystalline future beats beauty, Fire, which features an unexpected but oh so welcome cameo by Los Angeles electro pop artist pennybirdrabbit, whom we haven’t heard from for a very long time. Fire is a cool summer ballad. Its dusky sonic texture and airy effervescent beats are perfectly matched with pennybirdrabbit’s dreamy flowing vocals. You can stream EMBRZ’s new EP in full on Soundcloud, here. Purchase from major retailers, here.

Play With Fire couldn’t be a more appropriate name for this song, the latest from Nashville musician Sam Tinnesz and the second single from his forthcoming debut full length, Babel. A sinuous twisting, razor sharp congregation of electronic, alt rock, and soul permeates this ominous collaboration with Yacht Money. It’s an electrifying anthem that evokes Bryce Fox and Bishop Briggs and a fine follow up to Sam Tinnesz’s prior single and first taste from his full length, title track Babel, which features Super Duper. You can take Babel for a riveting spin below. Sam Tinnesz may be new to us, but his debut album is already shaping up to be an intense gripping spectacular with these two treats. You can find both songs on iTunes, here.

Wisconsin production projects Crystal Knives and RCKT PWR rocket right onto our radars with a trap jolting, dancehall fierce banger named Elements, which features fiery vocals by JK Lulu. It’s an exhilarating yet seductive dance anthem whose funky curls, gritty bass, and snappy beats fit right in with some

Jack Ü  and Major Lazer. Elements’ thrilling jabs and polished jolts can be downloaded for endless repeat joyrides, here.

Mija’s debut original is Tegan and Sara sampling heaven. The Los Angeles based DJ and producer took snippets of one of my favorite recent Tegan and Sara tunes, Boyfriend, and utilized it in her staccato jabbing, pitchy electrifying drum and bass masterpiece Secrets last month. As expected, some superb remix treatments are arising from the banger. And who else but Ohio’s Crankdat would amplify the soundwaves on the track with a brain jogging remix? Get ready for a jolting cacophony of trap, bass, and dubstep as the producer cranks up the energy with a hard hitting, cosmic jouncing edit. This dramatic thrashing thrill ride is a free download, here

Though much time has passed since I last caught Lido live at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, I still find myself bathed in the show’s after glow. The sold out evening was spectacular. Lido pranced around the elegant stage, alternating between instruments both organic and electronic as he delivered a stunning performance. This week sees the surprise release of a new Lido EP, PPII, on which the Norwegian musician and producer collaborates on three new tunes with R&B vocalist Santell. Recruit, the second offering on that record, is a searing cut. A fiery spice, reminiscent of The Weeknd’s dark throbbing R&B, is drenched in Lido’s lavish future snazzy effects. Stream Lido and Santell’s PPII EP in full on Soundcloud.
