When it comes to sweetly carbonated, chiffon tickling future pop, TYSM’s 10 is a 10/10. The Los Angeles based breathy voiced singer songwriter offers up sugar coated, airy bubbling bliss on the single, whose frothy electronic soundscape evokes the likes of Kiiara and Terror Jr. On production duty is none other than Felix Snow, who also worked with Kiiara the past and is a member of grape loving Terror Jr. You can savor more of TYSM’s effervescent pop on Soundcloud, here.

Terror Jr isn’t exactly the first project to pop up in my mind when I think of holiday music, but this isn’t exactly the usual stale and stagnant Christmas music, either. The aerated bop experts and grape loving production/singer trio offer up not Christmas cheer, but Christmas melancholy in the form of Sad Sad Girl. Though an anguished story inspires the resilient track, we as listeners are left joyously swaying to Lisa Terror’s ethereal vocals and the song’s gentle guitar strums and soft thumping, gingerly biting electro R&B/pop. All we need is some winter snow and some grapes to make the rest of our evening perfect. Keep up with the much adored trio on their website, here, where you can also find links for their three EPs.

How do you follow up a debut as summer buoyant and shiny gleaming as Together? By releasing a sensational second single like Only With You, of course, especially when you’re as talented and magnetic as Chicago’s CYN. Only With You showcases CYN’s more darkly bewitching side. Its stiletto strut and rumbling bass are a sharp contrast to Together’s sweetly prancing pop. The effect is thrilling and scintillating, like static electricity. Felix Snow, whom we’re well familiar with from his solo work, his production collaborations with artist like Kiiara, and his role in Terror Jr, crafts an elastic bouncing, effervescent lurching environment in which CYN’s striking voice more than thrives. CYN, who’s signed to Katy Perry’s label Unsub Records, has wittily linked up with Snow to create a melting pot of dramatic alt pop and fizzy electro pop on her second single.

In three days, Terror Jr will be making their live debut at Popscene in San Francisco. Yes, Friday is kind of a big deal, and I’m sure the droves of Terror Jr fans out there would agree. Aside from popping endless purple grapes and bopping to the trio’s past two collection of bubbly effervescent tunes, we now have Bop 3: The Girl Who Cried Purple to keep us company as we count down the days to Terror Jr’s sold out tour. The seven track compilation, which completes Terror Jr’s Bop series before they focus on a debut album, includes this sugar coated, crispy bouncing gem, Fight and Fuck. Spice and sass abound on the elastic jouncing tune. I can’t help but fall hard for the 80′s inspired feel of the spry future pop jam. Lisa Terror brings us a dose of sweet tangy nostalgia Fight Or Fuck, which is one of my current favorite Terror Jr tracks. Listen to Bop 3 in full on Soundcloud, here. Find out more about Terror Jr’s inaugural tour and their prior EPs at their website, here.

I still can’t believe Terror Jr is making their live debut in San Francisco at Popscene on October 6th. I’m not talking about a San Francisco debut, or even a California debut. I’m talking about the trio’s inaugural performance, their first one ever! I feel like we’re not worthy, and it’s most certainly a surprise they chose SF rather than Los Angeles or New York for the occasion. I’m going to be one of the first people on earth to see Lisa Terror sing Terror Jr’s bops live, alongside producers Felix Snow and David Singer-Vine! In any case, I, and countless zealous fans, some traveling from very far away, will be exultantly bopping along to their aerated electro pop, always so heavily saturated with spunky R&B pop sass and a sharp future pop edge. Terror Jr’s Bop 3, their third collection of pellucid sparkling, bubbly punching tunes, arrives this Friday. They’ve shared a new track off the release named Useless, giving us a fresh welcome dose of their crisp shimmering pop, this time topped off with some of Lisa’s most rousing vocals yet, particularly near the end. If you missed Terror Jr’s prior releases, you can grab Bop City, here, and Bop City 2: TerroRising, here.

I can’t wait for my birthday weekend, not because I want to turn another year older (I assure you, I don’t), but because I’ll be ringing it in with Terror Jr as they make their live debut at a super sold out Popscene in San Francisco. That’s right, the grape loving three piece will be making their very first appearance on stage here in the Bay, just about a week after they drop their third EP, Bop 3: The Girl Who Cried Purple. They’ve also reported that this will be their final EP before they prepare to release a full length. Lisa Terror, Felix Snow, and David Singer-Vine have a new treat for us in the meantime named Holding Your Tongue, a signature Terror Jr bop with plenty of whimsical effervescence and punchy future pop. The perky luscious, buoyant bubbling jam is out now on EFFESS/Atlantic. Bop 3 arrives September 29th.

Here at IHM, we’re more than familiar with Felix Snow. In fact, we’ve been in love with the producer’s music so many times over, we can’t even keep count. Aside from his prominent role in Terror Jr, Felix Snow is also responsible for producing for kiiara, Young Thug, SZA, and so many other artists, as well as dropping a lot of his own electronica and pop tunes featuring the likes of Madi and Icona Pop. Imagine our surprise when we sauntered upon his new EP, FS3, expecting more of the same effervescent electronic brilliance only to find ourselves listening to some fine alt rock. The four track release showcases an alternate side to Felix Snow’s talent, and it’s a tribute to some of Snow’s earliest influences, including the Grateful Dead, David Bowie, Mazzy Star, Velvet Underground, and more. Smoke On The G*****n Mt. certainly showcases those roots with its raw gauzy, fuzzy thrumming rock. You can stream Felix Snow’s unexpected rock EP in full on Soundcloud, here.

Last Friday, grape and bop connoisseurs Terror Jr dropped their highly anticipated album Bop City 2: TerroRising. If you’ve yet to treat yourself to the bouncy effervescent electro pop that ricochets off this thirteen track release, you need to make your way over to Soundcloud, here. Among the album’s plenteous new gems is Talking To Myself, an airy gust of sweet carbonated, sassy prickling enchantment. We can’t seem to ever get enough of Lisa Terror’s brisk and nimble vocals or Felix Snow & David Singer-Vine’s fizzy production. Bop City 2: TerroRising can be purchased from all major outlets, here.

Terror Jr has served up another fresh bop on our plates. And by bop, we mean BOP. Appreciation might start out relatively subdued and gingerly soft than some of the grape loving trio’s prior singles, but sway along in bliss till close to a minute in and you’ll be grinning ear to ear and bopping with vigor to the elastic jouncing synths that strike the glossy carbonated jam. I can never get enough of Lisa Terror’s lithe airy vocals, paired with Terror Jr’s effervescent production constructed by Felix Snow & The Cataracs’ David Benjamin Singer-Vine. The three have certainly created a unique niche for themselves with their soda pop bops, which straddle a fine line between pop and electronica. Appreciation is a taste from Terror Jr’s Bop City 2: TerrorRising. It’s available for pre-order, here, before its release on June 16th. Stream/download Appreciation, here.
