Sometimes, the most mundane of circumstances results in the creation of remarkable music. One moment, you’re working in a bar and chatting with your co-worker, the next, you’ve forged a sensational dance track with him. Okay, that doesn’t really happen to me, like, ever, but that’s exactly what happened to Canadian producer DeBoer. While working in downtown Toronto, he found out his co-worker Joël happened to be a gifted lyricist and vocalist. He dropped off some beats to Joël who came back at him with a perfect vocal fit for Fame. Joël’s exquisitely soulful crooning and DeBoer’s sleek impassioned blend of deep house and future bass make for an epic anthem, resolute and earnest. Fame is a free download, here.

If you’re a sucker for melodic, uplifting house music, you must check out this new remix by Las Vegas producers JackEL and Fame. They take super collaboration song Gold Skies, by Martin Garrix, DVBBS, and Sander van Doorn, and they create a helluva radiant banger. It’s a summery burst of warm energy.

Not too many months ago, while I was wondering what Los Angeles musician RY X was up to, I happened upon a project named The Acid, which he is a part of. The Acid really impress me with their magnificent experimental and minimalist sound. Their alternative track Basic Instinct, which I featured promptly, reminded me both of late Radiohead and grandiose Woodkid at the same time, with a touch of folksy Jose Gonzalez, Justin Vernon, or even early Snow Patrol, to boot. Today, the collective released an amazing video for their artsy electronic pop song Fame on NPR, another incredible gem from this talented group of artists. Watch the video below, which features a group of dancers named WIFE, but also listen to Basic Instinct, if you missed it last time around. Both tunes are off their self titled EP, out last year. The Acid are also releasing a debut full length on June 2, titled Liminal, on Infectious Music.
