I’m still utterly obsessed with the dreamy gliding beauty of Handsome Ghost’s synthpop single, Graduate, but I can’t help but make plenty of room in my heart for the Los Angeles based band’s latest “indie prom” confection, a tropical delight named Eyes Wide that features Whole Doubts. This one’s juicy luscious and summery stirring, a Cheat Codes meets Panama Wedding sort of youthful springing, honey glowing gem. Eyes Wide is available from various outlets, here.

English band Meadowlark’s exquisite, atmospheric beauty Eyes Wide gets a pensively rippling and deeply resonating indie electronic remix by an enigmatic new DJ and producer named Whistle Back. He crafts a crisp deep house gem that’s expansive and emotionally charged, yet irresistibly dancey and gracefully exhilarating. The soundscape is a fine match for Meadowlark’s delicate, crystalline vocals. Download the tune for free, here.

I’m glad someone fired over this sensational remix of Meadowlark’s luscious single Eyes Wide. The original reminded me of a blend of Zero 7 and London Grammar, moody yet so elegant. This re-working by British electronic producer Samuel keeps that opulence and richness intact, but he infuses the track with such a succulent, ethereal, and tropics imbued house vitality. It’s invigorating and soothing all at the same time. The original is off Meadowfly’s Dual EP, out last month.

Eyes Wide is a dazzler that begins with a hint of Zero 7 and some London Grammar. The beautiful and introspective song is the lead track off Bristol based act Meadowlark’s sophomore EP, Dual, which comes out on March 30th via Believe. Dreamy atmosphere and a luminous melody guide the song on a gliding journey punctuated by infectious chorus lines and an airy indie pop vibrancy. Eyes Wide is quite different from some of Meadowlark’s earlier alt folk flavored tunes, as can be heard on I’ve Got You, well worth a honeyed visit, here.
