True story, I was at Hype Hotel in Austin for one of their daytime SXSW showcases, and I heard Estrons go on across the street at Fader Fort. I was so enthralled by the female fronted Welsh band’s passionately rocking that I rushed over and nearly trampled people over to make my way through to the stage. While their fiery intense music has reminded me of The Kills in the past, Estrons suddenly felt somewhat Savages like live, and I couldn’t fight the urge to see them and absorb some of their contagious energy. That alluring pull can certainly be felt on Estrons’ explosive new song, Drop, a grungy noise rock and post punk slasher. My only regret was that I wasn’t able to catch Estrons’ set in full, and I hope to do that someday soon. I’m excited for that day.

The fierce female lead alt rock of Welsh band ESTRONS’ Make A Man had me itching to head bang and leap about passionately. The torrid punk snarl of the  authoritative track reminds me of The Kills’ slashing rock. ESTRONS released a grainy video for the song this week, which you can find below. Make A Man is an anthem that turns female objectivism upside down, and it’s a striking track from a sure to be buzzing band that has toured extensively at home already. Make A Man will be on ESTRONS’ debut EP, ‘Whoever she was…’, out December 11th. It’ll also be available as a single on December 4th.
