What’s that, you say? A surpise new EP from Slow Magic? Yes, please! The masked enigma, a superb producer through and through, has shared a new four track release named EP on Downtown Records, just ahead of his Coachella weekend 2 performance tomorrow. Chilled out future bass, jagged drumwork, and molten vocals by New York’s TOULOUSE adorn EP track GO, our favorite out of AWAY’s four crisp melodic tracks. For some thorough intoxication, take an incandescent EP journey with Slow Magic on Soundcloud, here. Support via major platforms, here.

It’s been six days since Cleveland’s Cautious Clay dropped his long awaited debut EP, Blood Type, which features a bevy of songs we’ve eagerly featured in the past. The six track release also features this new song, Elsewhere, a rich swelling injection of the artist’s unique blend of R&B, hip hop, electro, and pop, all embedded in an airy atmosphere and punctuated by Cautious Clay’s fluid vocals. Blood Type can be listened to via Soundcloud, here. Support the EP on iTunes, here.

The modern day Renaissance man Donald Glover, otherwise known as Childish Gambino, cannot be stopped. You’ve been living under a rock if you haven’t heard Redbone from his most recent album. Not to sound hipster but I’ve always preferred Childish Gambino work from Camp and before. It is with much delight that I found out his first ep, simply titled “EP” is getting a re-release for stream. All five tracks on the EP are great pieces of poetry but nothing stands out to me more than Freaks and Geeks. Childish Gambino knew he was destined for greatness as revealed with one of his closing lines in this track “I’m in it to win it cause having an Emmy just wasn’t enough”. By next year I’m sure we’ll be writing about how Donald Glover got his E.G.G.O – an Emmy, Golden Globe, Grammy, and Oscar. I cannot wait to replay “EP” on Spotify tomorrow, to watch Atlanta season 2 in March, movies soon to come, and devour his new music via the new record deal he just signed.

A flurry of phenomenal EPs dropped last Friday, including a can’t miss five track release from Los Angeles producer Robokid. Apart is in no way “robotic” despite Robokid’s chosen musical pseudonym. EP track Worth It showcases Robokid’s grasp on the sentimental, finely balanced with the thrilling and vibrant in terms of the song’s elastic jouncing rhythm and crisp production. It’s a song well worth your time, a fresh and unique approach on future beats and house. You can stream his Apart EP in full on Soundcloud, here. Support via other platforms, here.

19 year old Arizona born, Los Angeles based starlet Kailee Morgue has been named by many as an artist on the rise after releasing songs like Discovery and Medusa in the past. Her long awaited debut EP, also named Medusa, only affirms this sentiment with its four pop songs. The release is accompanied by a new lyric video for new song Unfortunate Soul, a sweetly lilting, breezy traipsing pop aria replete with the chanteuses’ delicate voice. The honeyed song tiptoes between clean guitars and glitchy beats. As 2018 progresses, we’re sure to hear much more about Kailee from esteemed tastemakers across the globe. She’s described as a tattooed, green haired, and anime obsessed gothic pop siren, and she certainly knows how to cast a sonic spell. Check out her debut EP Medusa on Soundcloud, here, and support via other platforms, here.

I’m still kicking myself for having had to miss Yungblud’s San Francisco debut at Popscene last year. As we predicted, the teenaged wunderkind from Yorkshire has gained a massive amount of buzz since he made his punchy roaring debut just over half a year ago with King Charles, and now the UK artist has released a self-titled debut EP! Alongside the magnificent tracks we’ve shared in the past, the five track release includes this genre defying fusion of grime, alt pop, and rock named Polygraph Eyes. With his distinctive voice, Yungblud enthralls us with a unique concoction. The song is one of his more chill and laid back offerings, despite its vibrant tempo and tightly wound splendor. The hotly tipped artist is on the road in Europe right now, but he’ll join K.Flay on tour this spring. You can purchase Yungblud’s debut EP from iTunes, here, or stream via Spotify, here.

Lizzy Plapinger, the Neon Gold Records co-founder who we’ve been so enamored with since the debut of her project MS MR with Max Hershenow so many years ago, has been hard at work dropping amazing songs as soloist LPX this past year. It’s all culminated in a terrific debut EP named Bolt In The Blue, whose six tracks include previously featured singles like Slide, Tremble, and Tightrope. The EP also introduces us to three sensational new tunes, including title track Bolt In The Blue, a sultry searing, stormy heaving political anthem. LPX co-wrote the alt/electro track with Zac Carper of Fidlar, and the track features him on guitar. The lyric video for Bolt In The Blue was illustrated by Robert Beatty, known for his work with Tame Impala. Alongside Bolt In The Blue comes two other can’t miss new tracks, including Red Queen and Fog and the Fear, both of which can be streamed via Soundcloud below. The full EP can be streamed and downloaded, here.

Ever since we heard Deja Vu earlier this year, Scarlet Pleasure has become one of our favorite rising Denmark bands. They bring a fresh new edge and a sexy charm to the country’s already innovative R&B pop and alt pop scene. Today, the trio released their brand new EP, Lagune, on Virgin Records, and it features this slinky drawling, torrid gyrating tune, Unreliable. Scarlet Pleasure’s trademark reggae inflected, creamy burning R&B pop leaves us flushed and swooning, as it always does. Unreliable certainly doesn’t apply when it comes to this three pieces’ music. I’m so jealous of the fans who were able to see Scarlet Pleasure make their U.S. debut last month at School Night in Los Angeles. Following a string of European tour dates with Norwegian songstress Sigrid, Scarlet Pleasure will embark on a sold out headlining run overseas in support of new single Unreliable. Stream/purchase their EP, Lagune, here.

Great news has arrived for fans of well-costumed Australian synthpop and glam rock veterans Empire Of The Sun. Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore have released a new EP entitled On Our Way Home after only having announced it a day prior. They’ve also shared a music video for its lead single, Way To Go, which I’m sure you recognize from their most recent album, Two Vines. New EP On Our Way Home also features several remixes of Way To Go and a couple of new treats. On Our Way Home is available from iTunes, here.

Our long time favorite and heart pummeling crooner Michael Joseph Nelson has released his new EP as BANNERS, and the Liverpool singer songwriter continues to move the soul and tug at every corner of the heart with his anthemic ballads on the release. Empires on Fire is the title track from the five track alt pop release, and it’s quite the widescreen burst of catharsis, particularly propelled by Nelson’s ever affecting voice. It’s a must for fans of Keane or Coldplay’s key tinkling, guitar effusive ballads. BANNERS also recently unveiled a music video for EP opener and previously featured stellar song, Someone To You. Watch the clip below.  Stream BANNERS’ Empires On Fire EP in full on Soundcloud, here. Get it, here.
