I’ve been on the hunt for a Soundcloud stream of this one for what feels like ages. I love Swedish indie pop band Urban Cone’s Sadness Disease, an insanely catchy song that I was sure would blow the band up after they’ve stayed under the radar for so long. Emil Hero’s now signature vocals (reference Porter Robinson’s Lionhearted, or Tobtok’s Higher) suddenly take on a rather Empire Of The Sun like quality on this remix of Sadness Disease by Madeaux. The saccharine, smooth indie original gets drenched in the crisp, thumping, techy flavors of future house on the intoxicating edit. I’m finding it impossible not to dance.

Urban Cone’s new single Sadness Disease is far, far too good for you to miss, and today’s new music video affords a second visit. The Swedish indie pop band seems to have gone hard into synth and electro pop territory on the hooking, vibrant gem, and this is all after band member Emil Hero has guested on some of this past summer’s best electronic jams, like Porter Robinson’s Lionhearted and Tobtok’s Higher. As we march into the wintery months of the year, there’s no doubt that Urban Cone is about to make some major waves. And I’m glad, having been a fan of their music for some time now, and having really enjoyed seeing them live in the past.

While we’ve been enjoying Swedish indie pop band Urban Cone’s music for awhile now on IHM, there’s no doubt in my mind that the act, who originally reminded me some of Of Monsters and Men back in the day, is about to launch into some chart buzzing territory. Frontman Emil Hero has turned in some superb guest vocals on some hot tunes this past summer, including Porter Robinson’s Lionhearted and Tobtok’s Higher. Everyone’s been jamming to and loving those songs, and now, Urban Cone returns with their own original, Sadness Disease, a hugely vibrant and infectious single that sits somewhere between Porter’s sound and Passion Pit’s. Urban Cone seems to go the more electronic and disco imbued route on the tune, and with Hero’s vocals, it’s a sure winner. Hopefully, this means more tunes on the way and a chance to see them live again.

Swedish producer Tobtok’s song Higher, which features Emil Hero of indie pop band Urban Cone, is such a delectably catchy dance track, that we seem to be getting a slow, endless stream of superb remixes. Perhaps producers can’t resist the infectious song, which also seems to translate so well in remixes. The latest remix to catch my ear is Canadian producer Avenue’s grooving take, who gives the nu-disco flavored jam some extra disco funk and some satisfying break beats and futuristic bass. It’s almost C2C-ish, in some ways, and anything that reminds me of C2C, even by this inkling, deserves some love.

I’m such a well behaved blogger. No matter how tasty the treat, I hold myself back from sharing until it should be permissible to share. It was incredibly hard to do that in regards to this remix of Swedish producer Tobtok’s infectious song Higher by rising British producer JackLNDN. Higher initially attracted me for many reasons, one of them being the fact that the song features vocals by Emil Hero of Swedish indie pop band Urban Cone (the same fella featured on Porter Robinson’s Lionhearted). JackLNDN’s remix leaves Emil Hero’s vocals sitting in the limelight front and center, which I’m grateful for, but he gives the song plenty of delicious nu-disco flair and sensual lushness.

Swedish producer Tobtok recently teamed up with Emil Hero, of Urban Cone (who seems to be everywhere lately, considering his tune with Porter Robinson, Lionhearted). Together, they gave us bright nu-disco treat Higher several weeks back. Now, the tune has been remixed by another super collaboration, Oliver Nelson and Skogsrå. Try not to smile when listening to this luminous, French electro house and Daft Punk channeling take.
