If you’re as much of a fan of electronic music as we are, then it’s very unlikely that you’ve missed out on a huge release last Friday from legendary electrogaze trio The Glitch Mob, especially if you’ve been as stuck on their single with Elohim, I Could Be Anything, as we’ve been. Just before See Without Eyes dropped last week, The Glitch Mob shared an epic new song named Go Light, accompanied by heady abstract visuals created by Strangeloop Studios. And by epic, I mean another floridly synth riddled, drum pervasive masterpiece. The Glitch Mob has been going 12 years strong, and it’s obvious they can go forever based on the inimitable electronica and top notch production they continue to deliver. Catch them on their expansive tour for the new album, dates can be found, here. Stream/purchase Go Light, here.

Though I’ve only been to Burning Man once so far in my life, I’ve been meaning to go back. One of the more enticing reasons to do is Tycho’s famed sunrise sets at the week long event. I imagine these sets to be near spiritual experiences. It must be magical watching the magnificent disk of a golden sun rising slowly above the dusty playa while listening to the beloved San Francisco producer and musician’s ambient electronica. Let’s pretend for a moment that we are there right now as we let Scott Hansen take our imaginations for a spectacular journey with his new song, Epoch, which truly does seem to span time itself. We find ourselves caught in deep, dreamy introspection as Epoch flutters and glides coolly and weightlessly, a perfect balance between electronic and organic elements. After baking in the Indian summer sun just now while getting some outdoors exercise, there’s nothing better to come home to than this beautiful song. Epoch is reported to be a keystone off Tycho’s forthcoming album, one which he describes as at once a departure and an evolution.

I’d never encountered Siberian chillwave before, but BAIKAL’s new self titled EP assures me that I can listen to it every morning and have the most glorious, wonderful day ahead of me. Off the release comes Seagulls In The Sky, a radiantly uplifting instrumental beauty, one that reminds me much of San Francisco’s Tycho with its relaxing, soothing cinematics. It’s this sort of music that makes me look at everything with wonder. Everything seems alive, and so full of vigor and hiding mysterious secrets to be discovered. At the same time, like Explosions In The Sky’s post-rock music, it also bespeaks of a youth long gone, with a melancholic tinged nostalgia. BAIKAL’s electrogaze is life on 8mm film, projecting on the screen of your mind. Another must listen gem off the 4 track EP is Where The Summer Goes, which you can dive into below. The cosmic gem is deeply profound and far reaching. I may have found a new favorite chillwave artist, and I’m certainly going to keep up with what BAIKAL is up to.

Instead of finishing up for the moment with a raging, skull rattling banger right now, I’m going to switch it up and go with breathtakingly beautiful and tranquil. Joris Voorn is a Dutch producer who just dropped an album titled Nobody Knows. Off of it comes Ringo, a relaxing, soothing minimalist electronica jam, perfect for fans of Tycho and other acts that craft downtempo electrogaze music. I might have to listen to this the next time I’m out camping or hiking. Joris Voorn also crafted an amazing remix of Lykke Li’s No Rest For The Wicked earlier this year. Check it out below, in all its sublime beauty.
