I feel like my love of French pop and electronic music is exponentially growing in strength this year. The discovery of Moi Je only convinces me of this even more. The producer from Lyon offers up a flashy nu-disco jam named Profite that has me delightful dizzy with its slicing cadence and delirious synths. It’s hard not start wildly twirling around recklessly to such a stylishly mirthful jam. Profite is the title track from an EP out this Friday, October 30th, on Crosswalk Records. If you find yourself craving more of Moi Je’s chic and lavish disco funk, continue to twirl to his remix of Kazy Lambist’s On You below.

Time to get your boogie on with this funky disco jam named Shakedown from Equal, featuring piquantly sassy vocals by Australia’s Seja (of synthpunk trio Seikden). Roller disco vibes intermixes with a Jungle like opulence on the flushed and feverish treat. The New York City based DJ and music producer, originally from Asheville, NC, brings some swanky vibes on this one, the perfect track to get loose to. Shakedown is out now on HeavyRoc.

For an epic dose of synthpop music, we turn to Manchester’s Girl Friend. They bring us a sexy new dance funk treat named Poison. Its sizzling heat and venomous gleam are indeed toxic in a seductive fashion, like a glistening, scintillating blend of Chromeo, Friendly Fires, and Passion Pit. Poison is an opulent ode to lust, passion, danger, and desire. The red hot jam is the quartet’s first since their excellent Arrive Along Leave Alone EP.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who believes that Vancouver based producer Haywyre is one of the most exciting producers to be picking up major buzz these days. He’s already proven himself incredibly versatile and an envelope pusher with his previous originals, blending classical, electronic, and jazz. There’s no pigeon holing his artistic productions, and that stands true for his new track, a remix of Odesza’s All We Need. Without even listening to it, I already knew we were in for a unique, magnificent treat. Sure enough, Haywyre’s remix is a jaw dropping amalgamation of genres across the drawing board, including funk, future bass, electro, jazz, hip hop, well… you name it. It’s likely there. The vibrant remix is a heavily pumping, thrillingly bumping, and heatedly steamy affair. It evokes Kaytranada, but far more funky and sultry, with perhaps some Snakehips and some French electro house thrown in, too.

Yes, it’s another electropop moment, and yes, it’s another duo, but this time, the duo is from Toronto. I really must thank Brave Shores, aka siblings Jay and Stefanie McCarrol, for dropping their single Never Come Down into my inbox, because it’s such a refreshingly vibrant and sizzling hot song, full of energetic joyfulness and an uber catchy chorus. It mixes intoxicatingly fuzzy and noisy electronic production with a rocking bassline and guitars, not unlike some of HAIM’s music, particularly during the grooving hand clap moments. The electro house heavy segments of the tune are somewhat Daft Punk and Justice like, with copious amounts of electro-funk flair. Never Come Down is the title track off a forthcoming EP, and I’m eagerly waiting to hear more off it.

Keeping those deep beats bouncing, but infusing some neon funk into our evening, with this new original from Brooklyn’s AIMES, featuring Javi (Crosstown Rebels, Under The Shade) on some slick, glistening vocals. Burnin’ is a sharp, chic electro nu-disco channeling rager, flowing with frenzied beats and delicious house progressions from start to finish. It’s a great banger for the dance floor, but I have a feeling this tune would be an awesome one to drive to, too.

French producer FKJ, aka French Kiwi Juice – I’ll never tire of saying that one out loud and finding myself craving some refreshing fresh kiwi juice, swoons us with new sexy jam Higher In Love today, which features slick vocals from Damon Trueitt. It’s a chic, jazzy electronic soul number off FKJ’s newly released EP Take Off.

Speeding up that disco beat a bit with Lemaitre’s latest. Wait features American soul pop arist LOLO on punchy vocals. The glossy jam is an upbeat dance number off Lemaitre’s Singularity EP, out July 22 on Astralwerks. If you think Wait doesn’t have enough kick in the beginning, stick with the funk, and the delicious, heavier, Daft Punk like French electro house follows.
