Heads up, kids. A must listen new arrival just came out of the music woodwork but less than an hour ago, and it comes from none other than post-dubstep, electronic, and gospel-imbued soul troubadour James Blake. I’ve actually been wondering for awhile now when he’d unleash some new music on us. The UK singer songwriter and producer is responsible for one of the best shows I attended last year. I was there for one of his three sold out shows at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco and he was nothing short of magnificent, whether it was his solo ballads on piano, his dub heavy re-visits of older classics, or the immense catalog of new music he blessed us with that magical evening. This afternoon, he’s finally released a beautiful new song named Don’t Miss It via a lyric video of sorts. It’s a much pensive and reflective song, sparse and understated yet gorgeously mesmeric with its soft trickling beats, haunting keys, and soulful cooing. Don’t Miss It, which is a collaboration with Mount Kimbie’s Dom Maker, almost feels like a CocoRosie song mixed with James Blake’s downtempo gospel and electro-soul.

PRXZM’s transcendental cover remix of LA producer William Black’s Letting Go, featuring Park Avenue, arrives like a soft, aching sigh, but it leaves us floating on cloud nine with its effulgent flickering, majestic marching beauty. Their milky smooth vocals and tender keys emphasize the original’s emotive future bass potency. Melancholia abounds even as we’re whisked away on a blissful journey by the refined rendition. I’ve always been drawn to sadness and the beauty it encapsulates in its own, unique way. PRXZM’s version of Letting Go is the epitome of all that I love about sorrow and joy. You can listen to the original, here.  PRXZM’s remix can be found on The Letting Go Remix EP, here.

Though Stop isn’t a brand new track from French legends Justice, anything fresh from the duo, including a music video, is cause for celebration.

Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay surprise us with a spiffy new animated video for the track off their excellent 2016 album Woman just as they’re preparing to perform at Google I/O tech festival tomorrow. The set will be livestreamed on YouTube. I’m some glitzy French house will spruce up your week and propel you over hump day. Justice is also playing a ton of festivals this summer in Europe. But they won’t be making it stateside till the fall, when they hit Life Is Beautiful and Austin City Limits. Watch Justice’s show at Google I/O conference tomorrow, here.

Ghosted, who are fresh on our radar, is a songwriting and production outfit from the UK. The trio have more than thrilled us and won us over with their latest single, Feel On Me, which features UK singer songwriter JHart on smooth impassioned vocals. Feel On Me’s exultant pop is infused with vivacious thrumming synths and high voltage dance beats, making it a heart-bursting celebration of love and desire. Perhaps it comes as no surprise that MNEK had a hand in co-writing this sweeping song alongside JHart. After all, Feel On Me sort of feels like Youngr gone MNEK, infinitely contagious, scalding hot, and wonderfully upbeat. The single is out now, here.

At first glance, the title of Weslee’s new single might be mistaken as “sweet dreams”, but this dream of a tune from the British duo is steamy and hot, with a fierce and foxy strut. Sweat Dreams is a future funk meets R&B pop jam brimming with sultry vibes and hip-swaying beats. It’s a must for fans of Nao and AlunaGeorge’s dance-inducing electro and torrid sizzling R&B soul. You can follow Weslee and their growing compendium of outstanding songs on Spotify, here.

San Francisco’s own HIGHSOCIETY reaches new heights of electronic splendor on the producer’s new single, Fireproof, featuring Beta State’s Matty McDonald on heated vocals. He expertly melds stadium crushing future bass, metallurgic dubstep, and blazing trap on the adrenaline pumping track. Fireproof is a cinematic jarring, grandly jolting tour de force. Just remember, you aren’t actually fireproof, so while HIGHSOCIETY is setting us all on fire and smelting us to the core with his wildly impassioned electronic opus, please don’t actually set yourself on fire in the midst of the delirious ecstasy that has taken hold of you. Fireproof is so explosive, it almost needs a disclaimer. But then again, the same could be said about every other HIGHSOCIETY track we’ve shared. Combust, at your own risk. Download/stream Fireproof, here.

When Elderbrook and Camelphat’s Cola first surfaced last year, I immediately labelled it as one of the year’s best electronic tracks, even though we weren’t close to halfway through 2017 yet. Cola has since been nominated for a Grammy for best dance/electronic track, and we’ll be finding out in a few short hours if Elderbrook and Camelphat get to snag that trophy for their incredible electronic masterpiece. It seems only fitting that we cheer them on and celebrated Cola with this brilliant remix by who else, but magnificent ZHU. He gives Cola the trademark ZHU workover, a visceral pumping, torrid smoldering deep house styled edit, permeated with slick buttery cooing. Cola has never been more sexy. The remix is out now on Big Beat. Stream/download, here, then tune in to the Grammys tonight to root for the original. London based multi-instrumentalist and producer Elderbrook will be headlining Popscene in San Francisco on February 15th next month. It’s a can’t miss show, and I can’t wait to dance to Cola. Tickets and more info can be found, here.

Aire Atlantica’s name has always sounded like some sort of vessel to me, like an airplane that flies clear across the skies to take us to a heavenly wonderland. The NY based producer flies us out of this concrete jungle and up to the moon with his frothy aerated, bouncy melodic new original, On My Own, featuring beautiful vocals by Emily Terran. Dulcet future pop meets electro pop on the disarming charmer of a sweetly enchanting electronic single. On My Own, which is out via Next Wave Records and Ultra Music, can also be streamed on Spotify, here.

As many fans know, Ansel Elgort, the dreamy actor who’s best known for his roles in Baby Driver, The Fault In Our Stars, and the Divergent trilogy, is also a well established electronic musician. He makes his return to the musical arena with a new single named Supernova, the title track from his forthcoming debut EP. Ansel switches things up with hip hop, pop, and electro R&B instead of his usual uptempo dance music on the swooning heater, which arrives by way of a fresh music video. I know it’s kind of cliché to say this, but no one puts baby in a corner, especially not when Baby is giving us such a seductive track. Grab the single from iTunes, here.

Last year, Mura Masa released one of the year’s best electronic albums, and a quintessential track off the release is no doubt Lovesick, which Parisian duo SACRE has re-vamped on a brilliant cover. They inundate the original electronic track with plenty of their sparkly glitz and funky flourishes on an absolutely stunning re-work. It’s a frisky yet sleek, opalescent and French house infused rendering that kind of feels like a seamless encounter with Mura Masa, SBTRKT, C2C, and Justice, all at once. Lest you forgot how good SACRE’s originals are, make sure to re-visit them on Soundcloud, here.
