I’m pretty sure there’s no one out there who would disagree with me when I say that Alison Wonderland is an artist of much varied talents. Though the Australian musician probably rose to prominence due to her much admired DJing and production talent, Alexandra Sholler also dazzles as a singer and electro-pop artist. On the heels of Alison Wonderland’s scintillating Coachella performances comes a new video for her single Easy, one of her pop-leaning ballads sporting crisp, vibrant electronic production and immensely heartfelt vocals. The video features Alison Wonderland dancing her way through a storm, stalked by an unrelenting rain cloud that even follows her indoors, a concept she came up with after connecting with a scene from 1998 film The Truman Show (a movie I love very much due to its interesting contemplation on reality and human nature, and let’s not get started about the strange overlap between Ed Harris’ God character and his role in Westworld). Easy is lifted from Alison Wonderland’s album AWAKE, which debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart. Catch her on tour this summer. She’ll be making a stop in San Francisco at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on August 25th (tickets, here). Purchase/stream Awake, here.

“When I’m with you, all I wanna do is love ya, no holding back now,” coos Chelsea Lankes in the opening bars of her new pop single Easy. The Nashville by way of Texas singer songwriter has gone through some fabulous changes in since we last heard from her, and she literally glows on her supple and nimble ballad. Now happily thriving as a newlywed, Chelsea shifts from her prior more sorrowful ballads into a much more content and sanguine arena with the dreamy glimmering, gently fluttering electro-pop beauty. And we can’t help but feel exactly the same while we’re caught up by the roseate song. Easy is like a tender embrace and a heartwarming hug that truly reflects where Chelsea Lankes is right now in her life and relationship. Congratulations, Chelsea Lankes, and thank you for this taste of blissful rapture. You can stream her music on Spotify, here.

In Greek mythology, Cupid is known as the god of love and affection. London based indie-electro quartet KID CUPID, who seem to have fashioned their name after the god, deserve plenty of love and affection for their mesmeric music. They first caught our attention over a year ago with their dynamic electropop and alt electronica on Siren. Now, they’ve dug themselves deeper into our music loving hearts with a dusky alt and electro pop entrancer named EASY, whose sultry vocals, lush keys, and dark synths recall MS MR and XYLØ. It’s clear Kid Cupid is gaining momentum as the year closes out, and we’re excited to see what comes next as 2018 begins to loom over us. Visit KID CUPID’s prior releases on Soundcloud, here.

Nashville based Mississippi rock band The Weeks will be touring the U.S. come springtime in celebration of their highly anticipated new album, Easy. They’ve been drumming up some extra buzz since we first encountered their music and promptly shared their tunes more than a couple years ago. A fresh video for their single Talk Like That serves to remind us why that is. This lead single from Easy is a rowdy mellifluous, dusty cruising garage drawler with rollicking pop hooks. The music video for the southern charmer features live footage shot entirely by the band’s own drummer, Cain Barnes. Easy will be arriving on April 7th via Lightning Rod Records.

CRUELS is cruelly taking his time to favor us with his music, dropping off ear pleasing packets of vibrant dashing music with months in between, but each jam has been well worth the wait. The San Francisco by way of Los Angeles production swooner now presents us with Easy, an R&B soul molten groover featuring melted butter vocals by Los Angeles’ Rush Davis. Easy is a smooth resplendent, steamy sensual banger, and it’s out now on iTunes.

Ghosts of 1999 was my first introduction to Australian indie pop band Selahphonic, and it was a memorable one, too, full of dashing magnetism and bubbly vitality. So how does this rising band follow up on that gem from earlier this year? By dropping another dapper gliding, synth radiant treat, of course! Easy enfolds us into more of the band’s The Wombats, Passion Pit, and Phoenix harkening combination of light airy, electrifying endearing alt and synth pop. The band explains that the song is about acknowledging that life is full of hardships and obstacles. “It’s easy to give up, but to overcome and face these challenges is what displays and builds true character.” Hear, hear.  A video will be unveiled soon for Selahphonic’s Easy.

Los Angeles based New York native Molly Moore is one busy chanteuse these days. On top of moving us with her solo pieces, she recently formed new duo Cosmos & Creature with talented progressive soul boyfriend Brandyn Burnette, too. Molly returns to the solo end of the spectrum with a riveting aria filled with dark passion named Easy. She raises the stakes with her latest song, a booming and clattering eruption of powerful progressive pop. There’s nothing on Easy that seems “easy”, not its vocal valiance or its elaborate construction. Easy is a stunning follow up to Molly Moore’s debut EP, Shadow Of A Sun.

Brooklyn’s MOTHXR recently dropped their debut album, Centerfold, and I’ve had a very hard  time retiring it out of my album rotation for the past couple months. Their swaggering synth funk and soulful rock is far too catchy and swooning not to stay addicted for an eternity. Easy is one of several favorite tracks off of Centerfold, and I was much delighted to see a new music video released for the smooth strutting Casanova. MOTHXR utilized footage from their travels in Europe and the UK, touring alongside The Neighbourhood, to create the clip for the sultry seducer. Head over to iTunes to snag a copy of Centerfold if you haven’t yet.

It’s been a year since IHM had the honorable pleasure of premiering a magnificent, vast beauty named Veils from a Brighton based singer songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist  who goes by the artist name White Peaks. Easy is another heart render, whose scope, though expansive like the mountains that inspired his name, also exude a candid intimacy. White Peaks fuses dream pop, future bass, and R&B into one weightlessly gliding beauty. My heart trembles alongside its warbling trills while I lose my way within its glossy drapes of warm nostalgia. The self written and self produced song is a sign of things to come on White Peaks’ upcoming EP.

Johnny Stimson is back with another exceptional journey into glossy soul and snappy funk on bursting new single Easy. It’s easy indeed… easy to lose yourself in the seductive wooziness of the vibrant dazzler, a twisting labyrinth of genre defying sound that even takes us deep into both R&B and trap territories. Easy is the first delicious treat we’ve heard from the Texan talent since his Holding On EP early this year.
