I’ve oft wondered how certain bands came up with the years they’ve included in their mind boggling names. Have you? Just to mention a few, there’s The Chain Gang Of 1974, Death From Above 1979, and, in this case, Night Terrors of 1927. Indeed, it takes some great brain power to remember the correct year for the correct bands, and there’s tons more than the aforementioned. Los Angeles based Night Terrors of 1927 first swept me off my feet with their incredibly catchy treat Dust and Bones last year. Now, just as they’re about to play Outside Lands Music Festival tomorrow, they’ve premiered a brand new song, the cinematic, heartfelt Always Take You Back. It’s a soaring, triumphant ballad, and I’m hoping I’ll be able to arrive at the fest early enough tomorrow to catch these fellas’ set, though it really depends on how work goes. Crossing my fingers! Their stint at OSL is followed by a fall tour that takes them all the way to the East Coast. Revisit the video for Dust and Bones with me below.

OFFICIAL VID: Night Terrors of 1927 – Young and Vicious

April 15, 2014

Night Terrors of 1927 released a video for their single Young and Vicious this week, which is the third track off their Guilty Pleas EP which came out last fall. It’s one of those moving alt rock tunes filled with sentiment and a hooking chorus. My favorite off the Los Angeles outfit’s EP is still unquestionably opening track Dust and Bones, though. I’d love to visit that fantastic soaring treat right now, how about you? Let’s do it! Watch the video below Young and Vicious.

Alright, this remix block turned out to be a bigger one than I initially realized. One more, kids! Los Angeles’ Night Terrors of 1927 gave us one earworm of a fantastic alt pop tune in the form of Dust and Bones last year. Now, Chicago duo Houses has remixed the tune into a slow moving, intoxicating, misty journey with very dark undertones. Love it.

There are a bunch of video goodies today, and this one certainly counts high up there for me. I absolutely adore Dust and Bones by Los Angeles alt pop band Night Terrors of 1927. It’s off their EP Guilty Pleas from last fall, and what a tune it is. So magnificent, so grand, so infectious… This song really deserves to be huge.

I just caught these guys last week live, and they were fantastic! Night Terrors of 1927 are from Los Angeles (again, I’m on a roll with my last few posts). If you haven’t heard their infectious alt/pop single Dust and Bones, you’ve been missing out. Catch it below. It’s tremendous. Listen to their new song Fall Into You above. It’s a wonderfully moody, polished, but thumping and dark track, very different from Dust and Bones. You should definitely take a listen to these guys if you like The Neighbourhood, The Limousines, and many other alt rock/pop bands of late. Fall Into You will be on their forthcoming EP Guilty Pleas, out November 11.
