Bazzi was already a pretty big deal when we first picked up on the R&B soul and hip hop artist earlier this year, but just as we expected, we’re seeing the artist’s name a whole lot more lately. It seems, some of our favorite electronic producers have fallen for his music, too. Remixes of Bazzi tracks are on the rise, and as it turns out, his irresistible songs lend themselves well to dexterous re-works. Just listen to Electric Mantis’ captivating take on Bazzi’s Mine, a celestial twinkling, ethereal flickering beauty of a remix. The producer from Alaska takes my breath away with his intoxicating chord progressions and emphatic rumbling bass on the brilliant future trap and ambient bass edit. Stream/download the track, here.

Emerging Southern California production team, Best Picture, really do paint quite the vivid sonic painting with their new song, Get U Thru, which features Max Green on vocals. The dreamy ambling, gently contemplative electronica and pop ballad inebriates with a light saunter and soft chimes. Best Picture and Max Green lulls us into a dusky yet luxuriant daydream with their fleecy beats and dulcet melodies on Get U Thru, a song which can get us through anything. You can also stream Get U Thru via Spotify, here.

I’d love to learn how rising bedroom-pop artist pizzagirl came up with his name, but for now, let’s focus on the downtempo analog bliss that exudes from Seabirds, his latest taste from a forthcoming debut EP instead. A hint of early The xx trickles through the song’s tender, airy strums during its opening bars, while some early Youth Lagoon also rears its head in pizzagirl’s misty soundscape. Seabirds’ lo-fi electronica & pop is riddled with syncopated beats that evoke Starfucker, but there’s a starkness to pizzagirl’s vocals that remind me of Majical Cloudz, too. Yes, it’s minimalism is quite misleading, a veil for its eclectic sonic anatomy. The Liverpool artist will be releasing his debut EP, titled An Extended Play, on April 13th. Seabirds is out today via independent label Heist or Hit. Keep up with pizzagirl on his website, here.

Transcendental and atmospheric can’t even begin to describe the stunning beauty of IDLE, an ethereal billowing, pellucid burbling electronic track off a new EP from SoCal three piece mAsis. IDLE’s electronica and pop is chiffon yet moody, and its prowling beats and future bass styled production flickers are sensually hypnotic. It’s one of five flawlessly immersive must-listen tunes from the new EP Always You, which can be streamed via Soundcloud, here. mAsis achieves an exquisite balance between organic and synthetic on the dusky electronic release. Drawing us deep into every song are mAsis’ silky soft, plush enchanting vocals. It comes as no surprise that mAsis’ members have worked with the likes of Rhye, Banks, and Mr Little Jeans. They say of their new EP: “‘Always You’ is a journey towards atonement, of revisiting our past so we can embrace our ever-changing future.”

“Take your time” isn’t common advice when it comes to the hurried freneticism of most electronic tracks that we come across. Dance music is usually an urgent and demanding experience, with pounding beats and booming bass. But LA by way of Chicago producer Madnap slows things down for us on his new track, Take Your Time!, and we couldn’t be more than grateful. As they say, we need to stop and smell the flowers, and this is an aromatic and melodic saunter well worthy all the time in the world. Breath in Madnap’s slick synths, rumbling bass, and whimsical texture off his chill future beats composition. Take Your Time! is a meditative late night dalliance that leaves us soothed, refreshed, and relaxed. Stream/purchase the single, here.

EMBRZ, that Irish songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose been steadily enrapturing us with his music and remixes for more than three long years, has revealed a pop-leaning, emotive stirring, and effervescent sparkling new gem named Close 2 U featuring Australian newcomer Harvie on guest vocals. The celestial aria flitters gracefully and weightlessly in much the same way Odesza and Petit Biscuit tracks do. And it’s going to be a transcendental treat to sway to live, if I get to catch EMBRZ when he performs at Ultra Music’s SXSW showcase later this week. Close 2 U follows on Jack Casey’s much lauded Progress EP from last year.

Jack details the track: “When I wrote ‘Close 2 U’, I really wanted to channel that old EMBRZ sound. Some of my first ever releases, ‘Slow Down’ & “Make Your Way’ are still really special to me, and I wanted to try capture the same feelings I had when I wrote those songs. I feel like I’m in a really happy place writing-wise. It’s important to challenge yourself and try out other styles, but I always find myself going back to writing emotional and nostalgic music. The music I first started out on.” Stream Close 2 U and EMBRZ impressive catalog of music via Spotify, here.

The last time we featured Mokita, the Nashville based songwriter and producer had teamed up with pop star Maty Noyes on Goodbye, a dreamy wistful electronic rendition of Third Eye Blind’s Semi-Charmed Life. This month, Mokita returns solo on sweetly melting single When I See You, out now on Armada Music. He gives us a dulcet and melodious, plush and lilting beauty that straddles the line between pop and electronica in much the same vein as A R I Z O N A and their electro charged harmonies. You can find the track on iTunes, here.

We’re just about hitting the tail end of this cold winter season and more than ready to welcome the coming of spring, but we’re more than ready to embrace the cool gust of autumn and the dewy air of fall that Demo Taped brings us on his song Winter Soon. The sound he gives us here is a stark contrast to the more upbeat and synth mellifluous tracks he’s given us in the past. After all, the 19 year old Atlanta based producer and musician last moved us with an uptempo rhythm and vivacious synths on brisk and sleek Pack Of Gum. This time around, he gives us a dreamy sparkling, smooth glissading escapade that’s but one of many fine treats from his new EP, Momentary, out now on 300 Entertainment. Drift away to the introspective & wistful cut, ride its rotund tide, and find that “momentary” bliss as the rest of the world fades away. Stream/purchase Demo Taped sophomore EP, here.

Let’s continue to bring some chill feels tonight with a treasured new discovery named NAUUDA. The project hails from Norway, and the two producers behind it have mesmerized me with their chill jazzy hip hop and suave electronica on ‘up’. We’ve been having some wet weather here in San Francisco this week. ‘up’ is the perfect accompaniment. It warms us up yet and keeps us intoxicated from start to finish with its choppy vocals and foggy percolating beats. The track even features some sampling of a rain storm. NAUUDA drenches us with late night vibes and a snazzy groove. For another taste of the pair’s music, stream ‘party’ below, too. It’s more uptempo with its breaking mixture of house, jungle, and garage, and it even samples Alessia Cara’s Here.

San Francisco Bonobo fans (and there are so many of us here) are stoked they get to catch the esteemed and celebrated British producer throw down a DJ set this Saturday at The Midway. I’m guessing it’s more than likely that Simon Green will drop on his transcendental new collaboration with fellow Brit, George FitzGerald. When he does, the crowd is going to collectively melt to Outgrown’s beautifully spiraling, halcyon spinning ambient electronica, so gently saturated with soft garage beats. Outgrown is an emotionally stirring, delicately embroidered new taste from George FitzGerald’s highly anticipated full length, All That Must Be, out on March 9th. Pre-order the album, here.
