Who out there doesn’t dig a double feature, much less one from NY based indie rock mainstay Matt Pond PA? Earlier this month, Matt Pond announced their twelfth album Still Summer, and he treated us to its title track, a dusty swinging power pop anthem that swung us right into summer from spring. Today, the band has followed the single up with two bonus tunes not from the record, which they’ve dubbed “Double Freeture”. Sugar River, which you can stream above, is as endearing as can be, a reedy strumming, dewy marching ballad. The song has melted me plenty times over since this morning. Completing the “Double Freeture” is windswept gusting Skin and Bones, which can be streamed below. New album Still Summer arrives on August 11th via 131 Records.
