Sigrid is without a doubt one of my favorite new artists this year, and she just released her debut EP, named after that infectiously punchy debut Don’t Kill My Vibe. Fake Friends is one of the four tracks off the Swedish pop sensation’s EP, and it’s nothing short of pop perfection, just like everything else we’ve heard from Sigrid. Its soaring magnificence and Sigrid’s crisp immaculate voice command our full attention. Also on the record is a beautiful acoustic track entitled Dynamite, which you can hear via a stunning video below. I’ve already watched it at least a dozen times. Sigrid’s vocals are sensational on the stripped down piano ballad. They remind me of a cross between Christine and the Queen and Adele. Debut EP Don’t Kill My Vibe can be streamed in full on Soundcloud, here. You can also stream the EP or purchase via alternate sources, here. Sigrid’s a star in the making, and we’re lucky to have her around.

I’ve said it plenty times before, and I’m more than happy to say it all again. Sigrid’s Don’t Kill My Vibe is one of the year’s best debuts, and the 20 year old Norwegian singer songwriter is undoubtedly one of the most charismatic and magnetic talents to watch right now. The popping jam has received its first official remix treatments this past week, and I can never resist a good Gryffin shake up when it comes to ravishing dance edits. The producer and multi-instrumentalist gives Don’t Kill My Vibe a full bodied sound with his luminous lifting interpretation. There’s a dreamy chromatic ambiance to Gryffin’s Don’t Kill My Vibe that evokes Tycho, but expanded by the vibrant robustness of progressive house and the thrilling ripples of future bass. You can revisit the hit original, here.

Sigrid – Don’t Kill My Vibe (90Five Remix)

Earlier this year, a 21 year old producer and multi-instrumentalist from Birmingham, UK blew us away with a magnificent remix of Bon Iver’s 715 CR∑∑KS, a feat few would believe could be achieved in such a successful manner. 90Five crafted a beautifully dreamy, brightly sanguine remix out of the melancholic original. Today, 90Five returns with a stunning new flip to cement his status as an IHM favorite. With a propensity for the fresh and original, 90Five gives Sigrid’s Don’t Kill My Vibe, one of the best debut singles this year, a transcendental makeover. Don’t Kill My Vibe’s fiery flair is smoothed over with ethereal fluttering instrumentals and gauzy effulgent beats. It’s a very different sort of vibe we’re met with on 90Five’s remix, and it’s absolutely gorgeous, to say the least. Sigrid’s magnetic vocals ride smoothly on a radiant trickling, lush capering bed of soft sonic fluff. 90Five’s remix of Don’t Kill My Vibe is a free download, here. If you missed that

After but one listen of this newcomer’s debut single, I’m completely convinced there isn’t anybody in the world who can “kill her vibe”. 20 year old Norwegian singer songwriter Sigrid dropped her first single Don’t Kill My Vibe on Island Records earlier today, and with it, she’s swept me away with her confident and empowering pop.

Sigrid wrote her first pop song at the young age of 16 and in just two weeks. Don’t Kill My Vibe is a massive official debut, a solid gold display of immense talent and raspy soaring vocals. The majestic first anthem also come with a lyric video which you can view below. Don’t Kill My Vibe is also available to stream or purchase from additional services, here.
