We first shared with you DIANA’s What You Get near the end of last year, but considering the fact that it seems to have been re-launched as a choice cut from their recent sophomore album Familiar Touch, and since the Toronto band will be playing right here at Popscene in San Francisco tonight, let’s re-visit their dreamy nostalgic ballad. I called What You Get a torrid and opulent combination of synthwave, electropop, and funk pop last time around. It’s a Kate Bush meets Chromatics, Blood Orange meets Shura luxuriant groover. The band also revealed their video for Moment of Silence recently, which is another track off their latest album. Watch the video for the lavish searing, wavey skewed jam below. DIANA’s album Familiar Touch is available from major retailers, here.

It won’t be long before DIANA’s sophomore LP, Familiar Touch, arrives. We look upon November 18th with growing excitement as the Toronto band unveils an arresting new cut off the album. What You Get offers up an opulent combination of dark synthwave, torrid R&B pop, and vibrant funk pop. In other words, “what we get” is a complexly rousing spectacular, sort of like Chromatics meets Shura meets Blood Orange, with a bit of willowy Kate Bush. Yes, What You Get is that sumptuous. DIANA’s new album can be pre-ordered now from iTunes.

Alongside the announcement of a sophomore full length, Toronto’s DIANA has also revealed a lush pumping, flushed atmospheric synthpop song named Confession. Though it bleakly examines the lingering aftermath of an unhealthy relationship, Confession is a sultry simmering jam whose upbeat tempo requires our bodies to move in heated sync. The trio will be releasing their new album Familiar Touch on November 18th.

Say hello to Toronto synthpop act Beta Frontiers and his new single So Cold, which features Carmen Elle from DIANA on guest vocals. Beta Frontiers also released a NSFW video for the dreamy, glistening gem, which you can find below. It’s a wistful, nostalgia filled electropop treat. Some of the synthwork reminds me of fellow Canadian act Trust, but devoid of Trust’s gothy darkness and much more feathery and light.

Back to Canada we go with this Toronto band named DIANA and some intoxicating experimental pop. Strange Attraction is off DIANA’s album Perpetual Surrender, out August 20 on Jagjaguwar. It’s a fantastic blend of electronic pop, sultry vocals, and funky grooves. There’s a St. Vincent like quality to the tune when it first begins before it explodes into dreamy, spacey, melodic pop realm.
