I’ve been a bit obsessed with this song of late, particularly after hearing it soundtrack the trailer for a fascinating film named A Ghost Story. I Get Overwhelmed comes from Los Angeles project Dark Rooms’ recently released self titled album, and it’s a dream pop meets electro rock beauty to behold brimming with emotion. The artist’s breathy give I Get Overwhelmed a tangibly human quality. We can feel his torment rushing out of the song, a symphonic build up of ravishing instrumentals and cinematic flourishes. I Get Overwhelmed reminds me of The Antlers, with a touch of Perfume Genius and a sliver of early Youth Lagoon. You can stream Dark Rooms’ self titled album via Soundcloud.
