This is far too fresh and sick a mashup masterpiece not to give it a share and spread the music wealth to more of you like-minded music heads. Sadboy Sheldon, a producer and DJ from Adelaide, Australia, is apparently known for creating unexpected sonic menageries. A†ROCI†Y EXHIBI†ION is his epic Danny Brown and Justice mashup. You read that right, Danny Brown and Justice. And what a sixteen minute force of a creation it is. You can download the propulsive hip hop and French electro house emulsion from Bandcamp, here. Songs used in the mashup include:

Justice – Genesis
Justice – Let There Be Light
Justice – Phantom, Pt. 1 & 2
Danny Brown – Aint It Funny
Danny Brown – Grown Up
Danny Brown – I Will
Paul White – Accelerator (feat. Danny Brown)
Danny Brown – Lie4
Danny Brown – Die Like A Rockstar
Danny Brown – Blunt After Blunt

New York duo Phantogram’s dark trip hop flavored music always seems ripe for gritty remixing. And, there seems to be a trend these days for acts to have their hit songs remixed with the addition of vocals by talented rappers, too. That’s exactly what happened with Phantogram’s Black Out Days, one of my favorite songs off their brilliant album Voices. Brazilian producer Leo Justi remixed the song and enlisted Danny Brown on the rap side of the mix, creating a fantastic new approach on the electropop song.

Slowglide, an obscure new producer from Reims (France), remixed Detroit rapper Danny Brown’s I Will. It’s a solid listen and a a far cry from the original, blending ominous synths, trap, and hip hop. And you know I dig trap. Revisit the original nasty Danny Brown track below, which was off of his mixtape XXX a couple years ago.

Danny Brown x Purity Ring

September 30, 2013

For all of those out there who long ago figured out Canadian future pop duo Purity Ring’s electronic production would work wonders soundtracking hip hop, today’s your day. Detroit hip hop artist Danny Brown dropped his third studio album Old, and it features some sweet collaborations, including 25 Bucks with Purity Ring! The haunting, dark beats are deliciously sinister and easily take the limelight in my books. Danny Brown’s flow is dope too, but I’m first and foremost a Purity Ring fan. This isn’t the first time the two have worked together on a track. Close to a year ago, Purity Ring remixed their own stunning tune Belispeak. The remix featured Danny Brown. I suppose the seeds of 25 Bucks may have been sowed then. Revisit Belispeak II below 25 Bucks.

What I Like Danny Brown remix

April 16, 2013

Oooh. I like this. Charli XCX just dropped her debut album True Romance, and today, we get this sweet remix of her new tune What I Like featuring rapper Danny Brown. I like What I Like (no pun intended)… but it’s actually not my top favorite Charli XCX tune. It’s definitely grown on me, though. I find myself digging this new version of the track very much, more than the album cut. It’s more bouncy and energetic than the OG track. I’m patiently waiting for my copy of True Romance.

The original, sultrier version:

The ever busy, ever talented K.Flay dropped another new one this week. Hail Mary features rapper Danny Brown and it’s produced by Felix Cartel! It’s a hard hitting, explosive, gritty track. It’s only a matter of time before her star starts to shine ever more brighter and the rest of the world really catches on to her. This girl’s too witty and too good.
