Scarlet Pleasure has without a doubt been our favorite Danish upstart since the trio first swooned us with their satiny twisting R&B pop on Deja Vu last year. The breakout project has since captured hearts aplenty with their 2017 EP Lagune, and they’ve finally unveiled their first new music of 2018 in slick romping, whimsically capering Mind, which you can stream via its music video above, as well as a sultry simmering jam named Let Go, which can be previewed via Soundcloud below. Mind is a sleek cruising treat that showcases Emil Goll’s silky crooning and the band’s innovative pop, ever so gently checkered with balmy sweltering R&B, funk, and soul. It’s a smooth lurcher of a luscious bop whose video was directed by Scarlet Pleasure themselves, alongside Stine

Thorbøll and DolceRocca. Their new songs are out now on Copenhagen Records.

MØ – New Year’s Eve

December 31, 2014

Yes, I’m following up on my last post of a song titled New Year’s Eve with yet another song titled New Year’s Eve. This time, this particular New Year’s Eve is accompanied by a captivating mosaic video, and it’s all been crafted by Danish pop artist MØ. Looking back on all the many shows I’ve gone to in 2014, MØ is definitively responsible for giving me one of my top live experiences of the year. She simply blew my mind (and my friend’s) with her presence and energy. MØ’s songs off debut album No Mythologies To Follow translated terrifically live, and this sassy girl really knows how to work a stage and crowd. Yet, despite all that energy, some of my favorite MØ moments, recorded or live, come stripped down and sentimental. New Year’s Eve is exactly that. Tender, poignant, and bittersweet, it’s a heart melting end of year lullaby. MØ’s voice shines the most like this. Amazing.

Oh Land never fails to enchant me with her crystalline Scandinavian pop music, having given me one of my favorite albums of 2011 in the form of her self titled sophomore album. She’s certainly one of my favorite Danish artists, one with such a long list of amazing talents underneath her wings, having started out as a brilliant ballet dancer who had to give up that path due to injuries. Come November 11, Oh Land is releasing her fourth studio album, Earth Sick, on Tusk Or Tooth / Alarm Music. Head Up High is a new single off that release, and likely one of my favorite songs from her since 2011. It’s a delicate yet popping and glitchy treat, bewitchingly perfect for the winter months.  Watch her new video for the song, below.

We’ve been following Danish artist MØ’s rising career on here for just about a year now, relishing each and every new tune she’s given us, including her fantastic collaboration with Diplo, XXX 88. She’s presented styles that range from energetic dancehall to Lykke Li like, haunting pop. Come March 10, MØ will be releasing her debut album No Mythologies To Follow. A new track was premiered on BBC Radio 1, and, as if we need more proof that her debut album is going to be stupendous, Don’t Wanna Dance is yet another great song. It starts out as a beautiful, ethereal, and enchanting listen, but quickly evolves into a spunky, punchy, 60’s flavored, hand clapping booty shaker. Don’t wanna dance, eh? Try not to! I’ve oft mentioned I’m very keen to these Scandinavian artists and their distinct vocals. I love MØ’s. I look forward to watching her blow up in the scene a ton more this year.

I know I plugged rising Danish artist MØ plenty of times on I Heart Moosiq. I loved her Scandinavian sound and infectious, spunky electropop the moment I heard it. Most recently, she debuted a collaboration with Diplo titled XXX 88 which was fantastic, too. The track was the first taste off of her coming Bikini Daze EP out on October 20. Are you ready for the second taste? It’s going to surprise you! Stream Never Wanna Know above. It’s a classy, vintage pop track showing a more gentle, old fashioned side to normally futuristic . I’m digging this alternate sound. It fits her like a glove, and it’s absolutely delightful. I want to hear more of this MØ, mixed in with the artsy electropop MØ that I fell for in the first place (beginning with that awesome debut Pilgrim). This honestly makes me think of Lykke Li, who also does both sides of this equation so well.

OFFICIAL VID: MØ feat. Diplo – XXX 88

September 10, 2013

The audio for this wonderful collaboration came out the beginning of this month. I immediately fell in love with it. Now that I’ve revisited XXX 88 due to today’s new video, I’m even more in love with it. Diplo’s somewhat more toned down electronic production and MØ’s oh so obviously Danish vocals are a perfect match. It’s a beautiful song. XXX 88 is the first fantastic preview off MØ’s coming debut EP out late October.
