I recently started listening to Warpaint’s third album Heads Up, and I’m deeply in love with its dreamy art rock. Dutch all female four piece Dakota quickly reminds me of Warpaint with their single Icon. Though they’re fresh on my radar, they’ve made an indelible mark with their song, a lustrous shimmering, hazy meandering melodic rock gem. Icon is the first single from the band’s new EP, Leda, which was released on October 26th. You can watch their laid back and intimate video for the song below. Having just stumbled upon the quartet and not being able to dig up much about their background, I find myself utterly fascinated and impatiently curious to learn more. Icon can also be streamed on Spotify.

Luxembourg based producer Cherokee killed it on his last track, the Gibbz featuring Teenage Fantasy. Now, he follows up that tune with Dakota, the second single to be revealed from his forthcoming Teenage Fantasy EP, scheduled for release February 16 via Roche Musique. With it, he again demonstrates how brilliant he is at composing ornate, entrancing electronic music. Rich synths, disco styled percussion, and plenty of dizzying elements create a sexy, stirring experience. Revisit Teenage Fantasy, featuring Gibbz, again below.
