Betty Who joining Lemaitre on a fresh and funky new tune is a dream come true. We’ve been fans of the Australian pop sensation for a very long time, and we love the new music she’s been releasing now that she’s gone back to an independent career, too. She lends that irresistible voice to Norwegian electronic project Lemaitre’s scintillating new song, Rocket Girl, which was co-written with DagnyWe fly across the universe with them, riding high on Lemaitre’s French house-styled electro, so rife with sumptuous funk guitar and juicy plump synths. Suddenly, I’m imagining Grimes dancing to Rocket Girl alongside Elon Musk as he launches one of his Falcon 9′s. Seems fitting, doesn’t it? Rocket Girl has been tapped as the theme song for X Games Norway, which kicked off yesterday. Lemaitre will be performing at Sasquatch on May 25 and Austin City Limits Festival in October. Last Friday night will truly go down in my books as an epic evening at Popscene. Not only did I get to experience the sheer pleasure of a sold out headline set by Alma, but Norwegian starlet Dagny gave a stunning performance as the opener, too. Let’s bask in the beauty of her deep, luscious voice and sway in blissful hypnosis to her new pop song, That Feeling When. The track arrives with a lovely music video which, contrary to my personal preferences for warmth, actually makes me wish I were visiting a snowy landscape. The clip was shot in Dagny’s hometown of Tromsø while its live performance footage was taken from a special performance in Oslo.

On the new song, Dagny said: “’That Feeling When’ is my first single in 2018. The song shows another side of me as an artist, with a more melancholic, epic and atmospheric sound. It was written on an early autumn day in the studio, on my favorite instruments, the Omni chord. The inspiration for the song came from the hashtag #ThatFeelingWhen, and was written from my personal histories of not only falling in love, but also sorrow. It will be the first of two singles that will be released before the summer, and I hope that ´That Feeling When´ can create a different feeling for the listeners than my previous songs.” Like the scenery in its music video, That Feeling When’s pop is pristine. Keep up with Dagny via her website, here.

Hot on the heels of Dagny’s last synthpop smash, Wearing Nothing, which also received a sparkling remix treatment from Cheat Codes and CADE, comes this Norwegian starlet’s next hit in the making, Love You Like That. Its warm throbbing, high flying synthpop is like LANY and Say Lou Lou all rolled up in one and accompanied by Dagny’s gorgeous voice, which has the capacity of alternating between smoky deep and lofty lithe. Love You Like That is exultant and triumphant, a modern day anthem that encapsulates the sheer power of love. Dagny hit the road last month supporting LANY across North America for 35 dates. The tour runs through mid-November. Find out about the tour, here. Love You Like That is out now on Propeller Recordings.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Scandinavian pop, so I can’t help but gravitate towards Dagny’s electro pop. The Norwegian starlet shook things up this summer with her hit single Wearing Nothing, and as expected, the track is receiving some fine remix treatments. It’s an epic Los Angeles partnership as CADE and Cheat Codes unite to transform Wearing Nothing into an ebullient springing, tropical sparkling dance banger. If Wearing Nothing is a pop anthem of the summer, Cheat Codes and CADE’s remix is a bonafide summer dance anthem to accompany the tune. The luminously lifting remix is available on iTunes, here.

It’s been nearly a year since London based Norwegian starlet DAGNY first swept us off our feet with some quirky, fiery pop on her debut single, Backbeat. Fast forward to this past weekend, and guess who’s just released a terrific debut EP? The title track off the record is named Ultraviolet, a word which tends to evoke purple hues and searing light. Dagny’s brandy wined voice is most certainly blazing hot and sultry magnetic on Ultraviolet, full of spunk and mettle as she belts out the lyrics of this playful crunching, cheeky snapping pop song. The more you listen to Ultraviolet, the more its hooks sink in. Hints of Lana Del Rey simmer within its rollicking soundscape, alongside slivers of newly emerging indie chanteuses like Bloodboy and CHLØË BLACK. Listen to the rest of Dagny’s debut EP on Spotify.

Norwegian born London based pop starlet Dagny has returned with her second single, and she’s even partnered up with brilliant Børns on Fool’s Gold. It doesn’t take long once you dive into this one to know Fool’s Gold is a massive pop anthem. It marches triumphantly and soars fearlessly, rendering me a fool for Dagny all over again. It’s also a rare treat to hear Børns guest on a song, and his verse is glossy exhilarating. Fool’s Gold launches us to high peaks of ecstasy. It’s an unforgettable ballad from Dagny’s debut EP due out August 4th via Republic. Lest you forgot how fierce and arresting Dagny’s debut song Backbeat is, let’s revisit the vibrant animation of the song below. Dagny cements herself as an artist to watch with two marvelous tunes.
