D∆WN, or Dawn Richard formerly of Danity Kane, has built quite the R&B pop empire for herself since she went off on her solo adventure. The New Orleans based chanteuse adds to her ever growing repertoire of immensely captivating songs with Break Me, an atmospheric beauty produced by LEONCE. Dark hip hop beats and serrated synths perforate the fleecy late night soundscape found on this absolutely stunning piece. We’ve shared a ton of songs from D∆WN in the past, but Break Me quickly takes the crown as my new favorite.

As much as brilliant Brooklyn collective Dirty Projectors tends to utterly defy genres and as much as I know that they reel in fellow artist fans from all across the music spectrum, it still came as an unexpected surprise to find out that the band’s latest single features R&B pop chanteuse,

D∆WN, or Dawn Richards formerly of Danity Kane. Don’t get me wrong, this is pleasant, eager, welcome surprise. D∆WN has been making massive waves with her music this past year, and her soulful vocals are a perfect accompaniment to Dirty Projectors’ whimsically warped, fidgety agitated sound on Cool Your Heart. In fact, she reminds me heavily of Amber Coffman on the song. There’s a glossy coat of sweetness that covers this fascinating tune, yet another fine taste from Dirty Projectors’ long awaited seventh full length. Self titled Dirty Projectors is due to arrive February 24th via Domino. Pre-order, here.

Star Slinger is a gifted electronic and hip hop producer whom IHM has been following along with from its very inception. It’s been some time since we last heard from him, which makes perfect sense now that news of a fresh EP has arrived. Star Slinger will be releasing We Could Be More, a star studded collaborative effort, on OWSLA, and he’s revealed the lead single from this sure to be sublime affair. On the EP’s title track, the producer partners up with fiery R&B songbird D∆WN to present us with a sexy enthralling, crisp polished dance joint. We Could Be More even features Tinashe on co-writing duties. The single is easily one of Star Slinger’s most infectious, pop leaning pieces. Aside from D∆WN, Star Slinger’s new EP will also feature an impressive roster of James Vincent McMorrow, Sam Sparro, Sara Z, and Tunji Ige. The EP is slated to arrive on December 2nd.

Prepare to display your fine jittering footwork as Machinedrum inebriates us with his fizzy clattering new single, Do It 4 U, which features guest vocals by ex Danity Kane member D∆WN, whose solo career has been nothing short of magnificent as of late.  Do It 4 U is a shiver inducing taste from Machinedrum’s new LP, Human Energy. It skitters restlessly, its jungly rich agitation thoroughly exhilarating and contagious. Purchase Do It 4 U from various outlets, here. Travis’ new album Human energy drops September 30th on Ninja Tune.

May start posting these ongoing “MOOSIQ MOSAICs” direct on IHM for those who haven’t had time to catch up on daily features and want to stream some rad new tunes via a handy Soundcloud playlist. Been doing this for awhile now, but likely many are still not aware (particularly if you don’t follow IHM on Twitter or Facebook). This one’s sonic gold, so many sizzling hot jams featured earlier this week on June 15th! Only songs that are streaming in full on Soundcloud are included in these playlists, snippets and previews are excluded.

It’s a collaboration for the ages on Lemonade Lakes, the latest track from Yours Truly and Adidas Originals’ #songfromscratch series. I suppose we should thank them both for pairing oshi and D∆WN together on a savage scintillating, future vibing R&B and minimalist electronica masterpiece. The viscous brooding song is hypnotic dazzling and nebulous haunting. London’s oshi, whom I was fortunate enough to catch at SXSW back in March, crafts an erotic entrancing soundscape, while Danity Kane veteran and fast rising sultry songstress Dawn Richard delivers one of her most riveting performances yet.

I never really listened to Danity Kane in my younger days, as much as they were an influential force in the music scene for quite some time, but I’m most certainly following along with ex Danity Kane member Dawn Richard’s solo career these days. And I’m not the only one, too. Dawn Richard, or D∆WN, has been releasing some stellar eletropop and R&B ballads, turning heads and winning ears over all across the tastemakers board. D∆WN goes dance energetic on zippy piquant new tune Wake Up, a whorling magnificent, throbbing dynamic jam produced by ever brilliant Machinedrum. It’s no secret that D∆WN’s forthcoming full length RED*emp*tion is shaping up to be a must listen release when it comes out later this year. Wake Up is available now from iTunes.

Dawn Richard, or D∆WN, is building an impressive solo career post-Danity Kane. Her dark electronic pop and R&B is bold, polished, and arresting. New song Honest is a testament to her rising star, an intensely emotional inferno brilliantly produced by venerated producer and Fade To Mind founder Kingdom. The spaciously bustling, beats shuffling aria is out now on said label, and available for purchase from iTunes.
