It’s been a very long time since we’ve heard from mysterious UK collective CROOX, whose haunting future R&B and dark electropop has stayed resonating deep within me since their debut song, Oracle. The enigmatic act resurfaces with a somber yet seductive minimalist track named Crying. Sparse hip hop beats rattle gingerly alongside James Blake like uneasy atmospheric rumbling as CROOX delivers striking vocals reminiscent of a fusion of Jack Garratt with The Weeknd. Crying’s tension also reminds me of Sevdaliza’s darkly jittering music. It’s a spellbinding return for CROOX off an upcoming EP.

Mysterious new UK collective CROOX dropped their debut single Oracle at the beginning of the year, and it was a dark and soulful electropop stunner that won me over immediately. CROOX follows that huge tune up with another emotionally stacked electronic song, Settle. Less murky and moody than Oracle, it’s a alluring, mid-tempo, and steamy electronic R&B gem. The boys will announce a debut live show in the UK soon.

Apparently, three times a charm when it comes to mysterious new collective CROOX, because 2 days ago, they swept onto my radar with their haunting song Oracle, then yesterday, they revealed a video, and today, comes a dope remix. This is the third day in a row I’ve shared ORACLE in some way, shape, or form, and I’m more than eager to get you on to this new take on the track. The UK collective’s dark and soulful electropop debut goes luscious, buoyant deep house on this terrific remix by UK producer Ryan H. While we’re here, check out the video for the original below, if you missed it yesterday.

It’s been less than 24 hours since I first featured mysterious new UK collective CROOX’s debut single ORACLE. Yet, here I am again, sharing ORACLE, due to a new music video for the dark and soulful electropop song. The video is satisfyingly solemn and creepy, exactly what I hoped for. Despite the ominous cloud hanging over ORACLE, it’s really a sweet and warm ballad, full of emotion and heartbreak. The compelling song is but a first taste from the new collective. An EP is in the works, titled EU.

CROOX is a mysterious new collective from the UK. Even their name is steeped in mystique, as is the name of their debut single, ORACLE. Like an oracle, I predict big things for the band. Their dark electronic pop song is full of poignant emotion and haunting beauty. While atmospheric, there’s a crisp clearness to the song that’s both refreshing and allows the moving vocals to really shine through. CROOX is working on an EP, titled EU.
