The “courtship” is long over when it comes to Eli Hirsch and Micah Gordon’s indie pop project, courtship. You could say they’ve put a ring on it when it comes to our endless love for the pair’s always charming tunes. They’re as ebullient as ever on new jam Tell Me Tell Me, a perky bopping, summer whirling tune that straddles the line between synthpop and balmy indie dance. It’s like RAC and Penguin Prison with some of the island sparkle from The Little Mermaid’s Under The Sea. Tell Me Tell Me arrives as the pair embarks on a new co-headlining West Coast tour with Saint Mesa, which ends later this month at home in Los Angeles. Re-visit courtship.’s growing compendium of effulgent treats on Soundcloud, here.

I don’t believe perfect people exist, but if they do, I might have to count courtship.’s Eli Hirsch and Micah Gordon among their ranks if they continue churning out fabulous indie pop treats as they’ve been doing this past year. To their rousing four song compendium they now add Perfect People, an ebullient cross between jaunty pop rock and dance ready synthpop. courtship.’s vivacious new tune seems to meld Portugal. the Man’s recent funky swagger with Penguin Prison’s springy electropop. Perfect People is a reflection on the image-conscious culture of courtship.’s home base of Los Angeles with lyrics that reflect on the anxieties of meeting new people and living up to certain standards. It’s a celebratory song about self-acceptance. Perfect People is out on iTunes, here.

The cars I’ve driven over the years have always had a sunroof… or moonroof? It’s a bit hard to discern what the difference is between them at times, especially when you have one of those “panoramic” roofs, or whatever they’re called. Yet, I’ve rarely popped open my “_____ roof” over the years, partly due to the fact that I live in foggy and cold Northern California rather than sunny and warm Southern California. Perhaps it’s high time I utilized my “whatever-roof” now that this fine jam has surfaced from LA’s courtship., proven purveyors of vivacious and infectious indie pop. Sunroof is lively and bright, another melodic deposit into the pair’s growing repository of outstanding synthpop jams. This spry springing gem compounds the agile playfulness of Penguin Prison with the prismatic hues of Passion Pit and the smooth charm of STRFKR. So go ahead, pop open that window thing on the top of your car, raise your hands out towards the sky, and blast some courtship. for a swift serving of summery euphoria. Re-visit courtship.’s prior tunes on Soundcloud, here.

Come next Friday, March 3rd, I promise that you can find me at Popscene at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. The lineup is magnificent that evening. Not only are Flagship and Boo Seeka on the bill for the night, but Los Angeles duo courtship. will be “courting” us with their dreamy lustrous tunes, too. New courtship. single Sail Away arrives just in time to fan the flames of my excitement. Sooty Sir Sly and frothy Passion Pit coalesce on this moody searing electropop and alt pop anthem. Eli Hirsch and Micah Gordon of courtship. explain that the song is “about that kind of beautiful/devastating moment in life when something feels so unreal, and you realize, like everything, it will pass.” We sail away, and away, and away again with courtship. on the deck of this sleek billowing gem, out now on iTunes.

LA duo courtship.’s Love For Everyone is a lavish dazzler, a disco pop twirler that requires a carefree drive down the coast, hair whipping gloriously in the wind as golden rays of sunshine warm the heart. It’s a song that embodies California. EMBRZ swoops out of Ireland to give the song a fresh new look. The producer plumps up the tune and highlights the original’s retro 80′s vibes with a nu-disco and synthwave approach. EMBRZ’s Love For Everyone is a succulent night drive. Instead of sunlight, we’re lit by the soft glow of a full moon as we drift across the lanes of a dark highway in a shiny red Testarossa. Snag EMBRZ’s slick remix, here.

I’ve been awaiting a second courtship. song ever since the new Los Angeles two piece successfully “courted” my ears with dreamy synths and chipper guitar on debut single Stop For Nothing. In case you forgot, the pair consists of talented musicians who’ve already graced the pages of IHM in abundance before in the form of projects like Eli Hirsch, Dreamers, and Tobias Jesso Jr. courtship. returns with a glamorous twirling new song named Love For Everyone, and boy, do I feel the love all around me as I spin around in slow ecstatic circles to this sun kissed disco pop dazzler. Love For Everything has been described as a “sunshine soaked ride down the Pacific Coast Highway”. I can’t agree more. I can almost feel the wind in my hair and smell the ocean in the air as Love For Everyone swaddles me in its radiant glow. Love For Everyone is a free download on Toneden via new indie singles imprint 20XX.

It was but a couple days ago that I was just praising Body Language and calling them one of the most exciting American electronic outfits of the moment whilst sharing their latest single Addicted. And now, the Brooklyn four piece goes and gives us a ravishing remix of a song I deeply adore, Courtship.’s dreamy popping debut, Stop For Nothing. To listen to two acts I’m immensely excited over combine on one luscious electronic track is a sublime treat. Body Language gives Courtship.’s first single a deep pumping, future shimmering house remix that leaves me more than ready for a magnificent weekend full of live music and dance floor shredding. The track comes as new label 20XX’s first remix, and it’s available now from iTunes.
