UK singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Cosmo Sheldrake is another one of those versatile, unique artists who has solidly captured my attention with his avant-garde music over the past year. New offering Rich, which features Anndreyah Vargas, is an utterly bewitching song, mixing folk, soul, blues, and pop. Anndreyah’s flittery vocals and Cosmo Sheldrake’s brilliant composition full of orchestral elements, including plenty of magical horns, take me to a world and time far removed from my mundane Monday morning. I find the song reminding me of my visit to New Orleans years ago, where everything carries haunting, sacred, and ancient qualities. A vibe reminiscent of a mix of Alex Winston and My Brightest Diamond also arises as I lose myself in the infectious, spellbinding song. Cosmo Sheldrake’s new EP, Pelicans We, will be out April 6th.

UK singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Cosmo Sheldrake is back with another unique, avant-garde track. Solar is a trippy, mind blowing alt pop track with endless surprise elements and hypnotizing percussion. The man’s obviously incredibly brilliant at musical composition, and every song we’ve heard from him has been a work of folksy, orchestral pop art. Each time I listen to his music, I’m transported to some enchanting, fantastical world. Sheldrake will release Solar on April 21 via Transgressive Records. The limited edition 7" will also include previously featured track The Moss, still my favorite. Revisit The Moss below.

Today isn’t the first time I heard of talented UK artist Cosmo Sheldrake, having checked out his tune Rich, featuring Andrea Vargas, sometime last year. However, today is the first time I checked out his official debut single The Moss, and I’m more impressed than ever before. The Moss is an intricate, trippy, genre blending song by the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. It’s a magical, bewitching folk/orchestral pop piece filled with a whole slew of opulent sounds. The quirky, amazing tune leaves me feeling like I just journeyed through a whimsical, eventful storybook. Also check out last year’s The Fly below, an clattery mind bender of a tune from last year.
