A “confidence man” by traditional definition, is a con man who’ll likely bilk you out of your money or trick you in some way. But as we’ve learned already from last year’s Better Sit Down Boy, this Confidence Man isn’t here to deceive us but to thrill us with the Melbourne band’s indie dance and dance rock music. They make a resounding and ‘confident’ splash as they bring us cheeky Don’t You Know I’m In A Band, alongside news of their debut album Confident Music For Confident People, which will arrive April 13th on Heavenly Recordings. So go ahead, strut your stuff, and get down and dirty to their spacey synths and cowbells embellished groover, which sits somewhere between recent faves like SOFI TUKKER and NVDES. Confidence Man will be playing a series of shows back home in Australia this May, ticket info can be found, here. Stream/purchase Don’t You Know I’m In A Band, here.

You can certainly get a taste of the cheeky, saucy sass found on this song just in its name itself, and you’d better sit down if you somehow managed to resist the urge to dance to Better Sit Down Boy. The candied & piquant electronic song comes from fast rising Brisbane outfit Confidence Man, and it really is a confident burst of bright prismatic, spicy fun dance pop. It’s as if early Azealia Banks and SOFI TUKKER were jamming out together. The track is now accompanied by a playfully eye-catching music video directed by Berlin based Schall & Schnabel and shot in Germany. Confidence Man, fronted by Janet Planet and Sugar Bones, who recently dazzled audiences across the UK with their high energy live shows. Get Better Sit Down Boy, here.
