The thought of teflon usually brings to mind something tough and resistant, hard and strong. Yet Cleveland’s Teflon Sega renders us a melted, liquefied mess every time he serenades us with one of his R&B soul ballads. Those feelings bubble to surface yet again as Teflon Sega melts us with his creamy, satiny cooing on new single Closure, a poignant lament of a dreamy electro and velvety R&B track featuring sonic magician YLXR on foggy atmospheric, dusky surreal production duty. Tragic romance and aching heartbreak take a hold of us as we dissolve into this pillowy, dreamy affair. While the closure we seek in life might always evade us, at least we can seek comfort in Teflon Sega and drift into the night feeling a little bit more complete. Closure is a free download, here.

Vancouver Sleep Clinic’s 2017 debut album Revival was an intensive emotional experience. Brisbane musician Tim Bettinson pummeled our hearts with his satin smooth vocals and his dulcet melting ambient pop on the record. I was lucky enough to catch him on tour in a very intimate space after the release of Revival; it was an unforgettable experience. In the following months, VSC has stayed reticent with his work, so my breath immediately caught in my throat and my heart fluttered near out of my chest when I came across Closure, Tim’s brand new single featuring Drew Love of alt hip hop/R&B visionaries THEY. I’d never have guessed the two projects could go so well together, but Closure is the perfect juncture between Drew Love’s waxy hip hop vocals and Vancouver Sleep Clinic’s glacial synths, glassy crooning, and cavernous sonic aesthetic. The remarkable song is an atmospheric brooding, glossy swiveling indie electro tour de force, and it marks a new chapter of music to come from Vancouver Sleep Clinic.

London producer Lapalux really succeeds at creating a tapestry of haunting, affecting sound on his new song Closure, an exquisite gem that features vocals by Szjerdene. It’s an utterly jaw dropping piece of sparse, electrifying, and heady music. The breathtaking mind bender of a face melting tune will be on a sophomore album, Lustmore. There’s going to be a lot of eager souls waiting for this one, out April 7th on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label.

Closure, which features seductive, haunting vocals by Lily Kerbey, is an intoxicating future bass imbued electronic pop song from Leeds, UK based producer named Deceit. The dark, moody, and fiery track will be on Deceit’s new EP, Verschollen, out February 8th. He says that Closure is about the aftermath of affection, including how feelings can be taken for granted, twisted, and subsequently lead to ruin. Grandiose synths and captivating production make for a powerful listen.
