Saturday was a wild one here in San Francisco, with countless frustrating show conflicts. If we could have cloned ourselves and gone to everything, we would’ve have. Unfortunately, prior commitments kept us from hitting up the Chromeo show, which we heard was an epic soiree, with Phantoms opening, too. I’m sure the celebrated Montreal electro-funk and nu-disco purveyors dropped their new single with DRAM, Must’ve Been. And I’m sure it was received with much zeal and a whole lot of dancing. At least we get to get down and groovy to the track anytime we want, now that Dave 1 and P-Thugg have dropped a music video for the song off their forthcoming album Head Over Heels. Summery bongos and Chromeo’s signature electro swagger permeate the proper banger. New album Head Over Heels hits the shelves on June 15th. Chromeo will hit the road on an expansive tour this summer, too. Maybe we’ll get to catch them then and make up for missing their headlining show this past weekend. Must’ve Been is available, here.

Electro-funk legends Chromeo have been teasing us for awhile now regarding their next album, and though we still don’t know exactly when Head Over Heels will be released, at least we now know it’s dropping in spring. Dave 1 and P-Thugg have also unveiled a follow up to lead single Juice, even partnering up with R&B/hip hop luminary The-Dream on Bedroom Calling. Chromeo says they’ve been obsessed with The-Dream since Fast Car from his first album. To them, The-Dream is a modern day funk auteur, like Prince or El Debarge, and their new song pays homage to their favorite work of his. Chromeo also announced their expansive world tour this spring, kicking off in Vancouver on April 3rd with a stop in the bay on April 7th at the Fox Theater. Delicious icing on the cake? Electronic project Phantoms will be traveling with them to Oakland, too. Visit Chromeo’s website, here, for more details. For now, we can dance it up and get on down to funkalicious, groovalicious Bedroom Calling, a snazzy strutting R&B funk swooner.

Canadian nu-disco and electro-funk kings Chromeo have revealed a brand new song this week. Dave 1 and P-Thugg teases the arrival of a fifth studio video with Juice, a plump and succulent dose of the pair’s instantly recognizable cheeky lyrics, sultry basslines, and soulful vocals. Juice’s video was shot by Grammy nominated director David Wilson (Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys), and it’s a whole lot of sunshine and fun. Purchase Juice, here, while we wait for news regarding Chromeo’s upcoming 5th album, Head Over Heels.

I’m always overjoyed when Charli XCX releases new music, and I never know quite what to expect, having followed her career since her early electropop days. New song Boys is a sugary bop, and it comes with music video filled with endless celebrity and musician cameos. From Chromeo to Charlie Puth, Flume to G Eazy, Mac DeMarco to Brendan Urie, Kaytranada to Portugal. the Man, this one has them all. It’s loads of fun just to try and pick out everyone while bopping your head to the infectious pop song. Charli XCX directed the video herself, too. Boys is a fizzy light treat compared to the British artist’s prior release, her punchy mixtape Number 1 Angel. Grab the single, here.

I know we’ve already shared some magnificent remixes of Lorde’s triumphant hit single Green Light these past weeks, but never would I have guessed the next can’t miss edit would come by way of electro funk wizards Chromeo! Get ready to bust out your best disco dance moves as we launch into this French house intoned, airy brisk transformation. Chromeo’s “green light” is a neon green, and it reflects brilliantly off of a revolving mirror ball hanging high above our heads. Not only am I now reminded how much I miss Chromeo’s swaggering grooves, but my excitement for Lorde’s new album Melodrama burns even more intense. Melodrama arrives soon on June 16th.

DJ Cassidy’s Chromeo and Wale featuring jam, Future Is Mine, has already been on the receiving end of some fabulous remixes. German production acts Jetique and MYNGA team up for the latest interpretation of the song, and they’re going to have you up and dancing in seconds. It’s tough to go wrong with Chromeo and electro funk, but this vivacious disco remix is just too banging good. And it comes as a surprise, considering these producers don’t usually give us music of this type. Crunchy synths, groovy bass, this one has it all.

It’s glamorous summer dance party time with this killer remix of DJ Cassidy’s Chromeo featuring Future Is Mine by New York’s Solidisco. They bring glitz and swagger in full force on the vibrant electro funk banger. Solidisco plus Chromeo vocals is a match made in disco funk heaven. The remix oozes golden rays of brilliant sunshine. It’s off the four track Future Is Mine remixes EP from DJ Cassidy, available now on iTunes.

We all know that Chromeo’s videos are always epic, right? They’re always epic. That Dave 1 and P-Thugg know how to do epic and silly together masterfully. The red hot synthfunk duo released a video today for their song Old 45’s, one of my favorites off recent album White Women, the release that propelled the indie darlings into mainstream success (uh, about time). I’m fond of the song both for how deliciously good it sounds, and because, hey, I collect vinyls and I’m a music head. So, yea. Guess who might be catching them live again come Halloween at Live 105’s Spookfest?
