Where oh where art thou, my darling Transviolet, the band who gave us some of the best new pop songs of 2016 and were one of our shining stars at SXSW that year? I can only deduce from their long silence that Sarah McTaggart and the rest of the band are secretively holed up somewhere in Los Angeles, making fresh new tunes for our eager ears. I hope we’ll be hearing from them soon, but for now, I dance my night away to a splendid new remix of their song Future by fellow SoCal resident Christofi. The producer calls this brisk dashing edit his favorite. That love and fervor more than shines through on his melodic springing, exultant capering dance remix. Download the track for free, here.

I must say, I’m very disappointed in myself for having missed Nick Leng open for POWERS and James Hersey last Friday at Popscene on the Nylon Tour. He was on early and I couldn’t make it out in time. By all accounts, he was incredible. For now, I’ll make do (and quite happily at that) with hearing the milky voiced San Diego resident on this squishy enthralling, vivacious bounding remix of Denver production whiz StéLouse’s ebullient skipping gem Been So Long by Los Angeles’ Christofi. The producer gives Been So Long some summer lift with his indie dance edit. His remix is a departure from some of the nu-disco confections he’s given us in the past. This robust future pop and melodic trap edit is a playful frolic, plus it’s a free download, here.

Even before I listened to this next remix, I already knew. There is no possible way a remix of fast rising duo Opia’s smooth stirring alt R&B by Los Angeles nu-disco auteur Christofi could go wrong. In fact, it could only be a heavenly pairing for the ears. Sure enough, the producer renders my legs a jiggly soft mess as my entire being melts away to his jazzy future funk remix of Shadow Dances. This swooning luxurious dance marriage between Opia and Christofi leaves us with only one option: it’s time to get up and “shadow dance”. Download the ravishing remix for free, here

Prepare to boogie to some luscious beats as Los Angeles’ Christofi drops the heat with Temptation, a deep classy piano house and summery nu-disco banger that features satin chic crooning by Brooklyn’s AYER. There’s no fighting this temptation as the producer smoothly hooks us in and urges every cell and electron in our bodies to move and fire euphorically in sync to his sizzling hot jam. The lush springing, soulful stirring song is a free download, here.

Los Angeles’ Christofi never fails to ignite my soul with his dance ready jams. The producer crushes it on new song Higher, featuring Malia, a piano propelled plucky house banger whose tropical nu-disco soulfulness has me leaping straight into the cosmos in giddy joy. Clean Bandit like radiant whimsicality and spades of summery breeziness leave me feeling plenty good and oh so energized on this glorious June night. Higher urges me to keep on grooving till the sun rises and beyond. Download Higher for free, here.

There’s no avoiding dancing around my desk to this next one, a luxuriant deep house smash from Los Angeles’ Christofi. The producer links up with Southern California by way of London vocalist J-Ven on classic piano house meets disco dance jam Don’t Need You. Throw caution to the wind, drop all unnecessary baggage, and let loose. Christofi delivers pure ebullience on the liberating song, his debut single. Don’t Need You is a free download, here.
