Earth Day is fast approaching us this weekend, and I’m definitely going to enjoy the day by taking in some of mother nature on a hike outdoors. I should bring along this remix, a free download for Earth Day, and allow it to paint the landscape around me in exotic hues and majestic tints. Benjamin Abbott, formerly one half of Island Fox and apparently going by the name S:Elf on Soundcloud these days, has crafted a beautiful remix of Island Fox’s Carbon Flux. The original was produced by Germany’s Mazde. The dark and somber electropop gem takes on some haunting dynamics on Benjamin Abbott’s new mesmerizing rendition. Head to Soundcloud to download the remix.

Mixed by Mazde and written by Wunder Wolf is Come WIth Me, a gorgeous, sweeping new single from the UK’s Island Fox. It’s about as elegant as a tune can get, evoking the beauty of London Grammar’s delicacy. The vocals are beautiful and angelic, like that of Hannah Reid’s. The production is sparkling and organic, wispy and breezy. It’s a splendid follow up to last month’s Carbon Flux, also produced by Mazde, and much darker and brooding.

Listen to this, and tell me it isn’t one of the most goosebump raising, beautiful things you’ve heard today. Island Fox’s Carbon Flux is produced by talented new German producer Mazde, who was featured a couple months ago on here due to his blowing my mind with some amazing remixes of acts like Milky Chance and Local Natives. Mazde takes influence from chill trap maestro Flume, so it’s only logic that I enjoy his productions, since I’m such a huge Flume fan. As for Island Fox, aka Jessica Barlett, her vocals on this gorgeous, atmospheric track greatly remind me of Hannah Reid of London Grammar. Carbon Flux is such a gentle, tranquil gem. It’s Island Fox’s second chillstep offering, the first being the haunting Things I’ve Seen, which you can stream below.
