After giving us a handful of sensational remixes of songs I love from bands like Mutemath and Temper Trap, Swedish producer Kasbo is finally back with new original music. On Call, he employs beautiful vocals by England’s Cheney whose quivering rich voice is reminiscent of Ryn Weaver and Kiiara. Call is a trembling entrancing future bass gem. It moves gracefully and simmers with R&B passion, like a key tinkling, gently jazzier combination of What So Not and AlunaGeorge. Call is out now via various outlets, here.

London’s AKASE, the collaborative project reated by Midland’s Harry Agius and Robbie Redaway, have kicked off the year with a stunning debut album long in the works. Off Graspers comes Call, a rousing pairing of organic instruments and synthetic elements topped off with deeply resonating vocals. Call is the sort of dramatic, futuristic electronica and soulful pop that grasps and crushes the heart in much the way SOHN or Until The Ribbon Breaks do. Stream AKASE’s album Graspers in full on Soundcloud, and purchase, here.

London artist SLK has released her new EP, Form, on Prism, and thanks to that, I get to share with you yet another fabulous, soaring track from the release, produced again by Embody. The dark, hypnotic Pour immediately stands out boldly with its haunting, florrid effects and beautiful, mellifluous vocals. There’s a grandness to the track that contrasts delightfully with its ghoulish wooziness. Revisit the more soulful and high spirited Call again below.

Don’t pass up on this soulful gem from SLK, a new London based artist with a fantastic, smoky voice. She collaborates with producer Embody on this mesmerizing, stirring single, Call. It’s exceedingly haunting, yet rambunctious and vibrant. There’s a BANKS meets Florence Welch like sound on the formidable, massive tune. SLK is releasing her Form EP on May 26 via Prism. SLK has two more tracks available to stream that were all produced by Embody, as well. Stream Be and Ride below, both grand, potent gems, too. I expect the buzz on SLK to rise exponentially as the year progresses.
