As if we need more proof that musicality could very well be genetic, Sophie Simmons, daughter of legendary Kiss member Gene Simmons, has dropped a spectacular first single named Burn Me Down. She’d previously lent her powerhouse vocals to electronic releases and served up some sensational covers, but on Burn Me Down, she goes full speed ahead with her sonorous voice and a dark moody, vigorously scorching brand of pop. And Sophie is already putting together a debut full length album for later this year, too.

Dark bewitchment abounds on Burn, a magnificent and dramatic future R&B, trap, and bass opus from talented producer Madeaux. An all star crew of musicians join him on the track, including satin voiced New Yorker, Josh Pan, London seductress FiFi Rong, and new artist on our radar, HOLLY. This four way contingent casts an opaque spell on us with their edge-of-the-seat dusky thriller. Serpentine whizzing synths, sultry drawling vocals, and climactic percussion draw us into their tumultuously blistering world, dripping with longing and anguish. Burn brings together the sharp textures of Arca, SOHN, and What So Not with the sonic sorcery of BANKS and Sevdaliza. The song is the latest single off Madeaux’s album BURN, out now on Fool’s Gold. If there’s anyone who’s had a prolific year, it’s young pop artist Billie Eilish, whose rise has been nothing short of meteoric since she released Ocean Eyes a a couple years back. Over the summer, the Los Angeles based singer songwriter released her ‘dont smile at me’ EP to much commendation and adoration. She closes out the year with a fresh new tune named &burn, a  velutinous then jittery re-invention of her ‘dont smile at me’ song ‘watch’, featuring American rapper Vince Staples on additional guest vocals. It’s quite the haunting and scintillating beauty, as Billie Eilish songs tend to be. ‘dont smile at me’ is available from iTunes, here.

Italian electronic duo MARNIK takes us on a vibrant sweeping, beat pumping electronica and pop journey as they team up with fellow producers ROOKIES on new single Burn. It’s a new downtempo direction for MARNIK, and ROOKIES’ infectious topline adds to the song’s staggering allure. Burn’s springy energy and crisp production are a magnetic, complementary contrast to ROOKIES’ sooty impassioned vocals. Don’t be surprised if this fine anthem is your new crossover addiction. Burn is out now via Virgin EMI and Astralwerks.

It doesn’t “burn” much hotter than it does on James Supercave’s latest. The Southern Californian trio are smoldering on new single Burn, a dizzying, kaleidoscopic dance rock meets psychedelic pop number full of frisky dalliance. Burn’s funky spring and muggy warble overflows with soulful passion. The track comes from James Supercave’s debut album, Better Strange, out February 12th.

Mai Kino continues to enthrall and bewitch me with her delicate yet rousing electronic pop music. The London based Portugal native follows on debut single Burn with a wispy beauty named June. Despite the dreamy pop song’s sparse ambiance, June is a fully captivating song. It burns, but ever so slowly and meticulously, while steeped in a fragile serenity, as if ready to fade away at any given moment. Like some of WET’s more downtempo offerings, Burn daintily swirls in a smoky fog of airy softness. Mai Kino’s fragile vocals are heart piercing on the melancholic serenade. June is available now on Spotify

Are you ready to be spellbound and enthralled? Then check out this new artist from Portugal, but based in London. Her name is Mai Kino, and her debut single, Burn, is a grand and stirring electronic pop song. The enchanting song carries an atmosphere that frames the song with a profound depth and a melancholic beauty. Burn is incredibly powerful and striking. It’s the first taste from Mai’s sessions with producer Luke Smith (Foals, Petite Noir, Depeche Mode), and the track will be out May 20th via Bad Life.

Canadian producer SYRE brings the heat on appropriately named Burn, which features sultry vocals by Kendra Dias. The oscillating future bass and deep house track is a resplendent and effervescent joint, with hints of both jazzy splendor and tropical chillness. Suddenly, I feel as if I should be listening to Burn in an exotic location, sauntering around on a warm, muggy night, blanketed in an opulently warm bliss.

It was just earlier this week that I was raving again like a mad woman about Saint Pepsi’s Unhappy, the Long Island producers re-imagining of American Football’s When Summer Ends. And now, Saint Pepsi, aka Ryan DeRobertis, has done it again with his new song Burn. It’s another atmospheric, stunning, lush beauty. It’s a smooth R&B flavored, flittering tune that samples Ray J. This dude is proving himself to be a king of sampling. Listening to his compositions is almost like having an out of body experience. I know I just shared it a few days ago, but since we’re listening to Saint Pepsi, let’s watch his video for Unhappy again. So yums.
