Remember the last time you were stuck in a dead end romance and you just wanted to be single? I can’t say that I do, since I’ve been playing the singles game for a very long time. Appreciating music on the level that I do doesn’t leave very much time for spring flings and summer crushes. But this doesn’t mean I can’t fall for the sleek sassy, chill breezy vibes on Brika’s new song, Just Wanna Be Single. The funky warbling, cool snapping alt pop/R&B soul jam is lifted from the Miami chanteuse’s upcoming EP, and it’s co-written and produced by singer-songwriter and producer Shy Girls, along with Grammy award winning producer Julio Reyes Copello. Just Wanna Be Single is a decadent tease and a foxy groover brimming with dance sophistication. Brika’s honeyed soulful vocals are golden, as always. Just Wanna Be Single is available via all digital platforms, here.

It’s been a long ten months since we last heard from Miami’s Brika, but she’s finally back, whisky drenched, honey wined vocals and all on a fantastic new single named Don’t Want Your Love. Well, I’m sorry Brika, but you’ll have to accept our profuse love, which we can’t help but heap on you and your slick jazzy, perky curling alt pop on this second track from that forthcoming EP. Don’t Want Your Love is available from all digital platforms, here.

Steamy heat rises from Brika’s You, the latest from a Miami chanteuse who has brought joy to our ears for over two years now. You is chic and snazzy, sleek and sexy. A funky strut and a jazzy drawl festoons this sweltering R&B pop jewel, whose groove is sassy and headstrong. Brika’s deep husky voice is a cool breeze on a humid summer night. It’s reported that Brika is working on her sophomore album, something I’m much looking forward to after 2014 debut Voice Memos. You is available as a single now from all digital outlets.

The muggy heat of Arctic Monkeys’ Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High takes an extra sultry and smoky turn on a sensational cover by Miami’s Brika. The cover is the first new material we’ve heard from the songstress in a year, and it’s a much welcome return. The R&B flavored interpretation of the bluesy rock song reminds me of BANKS, but crisper and snappier, in an Alessia Cara like way. I’ve fallen in love with Brika’s voice anew.

The latest Sam Feldt jam is a remix that brings me back into the smoky, seductive folds of Brika’s gorgeous voice. The Dutch producer edits the Miami chanteuse’s moody electro pop song Options, infusing it with a huge dose of weightless, blissful summer vibes via a melodic and tropical house transformation full of soothing beauty. It’s a remix that has me torn between carefree dancing and allowing myself to dissipate into thin air in relaxed serenity.

If you’ve been following along since last year on IHM, you’ll know that I’m quite fond of an artist out of Miami named Brika. Her smoky, seductive vocals and captivating electronic atmosphere are endlessly alluring and gripping. Brika recently released her debut album, Voice Memos, on Art House Records.  I’ve shared a great number of gems off of it in the past. Another moody and infectious treat off the album is Tetris, produced by Julio Reyes Copello. If you’ve missed my shares previous to today, and you love music by Banks and George Maple, don’t pass up on her this time. Let’s revisit Brika’s single Expectations below, a sultry song that broods and simmers darkly. Stream all of Voice Memos, here, but head to iTunes to grab yourself a copy.

Smoky, seductive Miami chanteuse Brika returns with her fourth single, Gold, the last one to be released before her debut album Voice Memos drops on November 25, via Art House Records. It’s a glorious listen, living up to its name in spades. Magnificent and with a grandiose intensity, Gold finely balances between moving emotion and shadowy allure. It’s Adele like, crossed with some Goldfrapp. Chic and resplendent, Gold grooves over an undercurrent of wistfulness.

Miami has an answer to all the endless seductive and haunting pop songstresses we’ve had coming at us from the UK (not counting BANKS, who, of course, is from Los Angeles). Her name is Brika, and she’s already won me over many times over with her sultry, moody electronic pop songs with their dark, minimalist production styles. This week, she adds to her impressive short list of tunes a bewitching new single, Options, an enrapturing and intoxicating brooder produced by Julio Reyes Copello. If you dig BANKS, you’ll dig this, but Options feels a little bit more snazzy chic, more soulfully luscious. If you missed my prior feature, you need to get up on Brika’s Expectations. Stream it below. I’d imagine a debut EP might not far down the road.
