Slow burning, sensual purling Deeper Than Oceans is Bravestation’s first single since they signed to renowned New York label AntiFragile, and what an 80s synthpop meets 90s R&B pop swooner it is. The last time we heard from the Toronto outfit was 10 months ago, when they enraptured us with their fluorescent sleek track Up For You. Warm and seductive Deeper Than Oceans is as romantic as it is nostalgic, and it more than raises our excitement levels for that long awaited Bravestation full length, which they’ve been teasing for what feels like a lifetime. For a refreshing dose of new wavey pop, let’s turn to Toronto’s Bravestation and their new single. Up For You is a florescent sleek taste from the band’s highly anticipated full length debut. Bravestation says that they wanted to put out a seasonal offering for fans “to turn up to while day drinking on the lake in a boat or lounging/partying by the pool with friends.” I’m not doing either of those things right now, yet Up For You is still a welcome effusion of warm euphoria. Re-visit Bravestations’ prior singles on Soundcloud, here, as we await further news about their debut album.

If you’re as fond of sleek alt pop that harkens back to the new wavey classics of the 80′s as I am, you’re going to love Bravestation’s new jam 13th Floor. The Toronto band drops us in the middle of heated smoldering romantic love on this rambunctious blend of disco, funk, and soul. The 13th floor might not exist in most high rises due to superstition, but this is a floor I’d like to revisit and dance on, over and over again. In fact, St. Lucia and The 1975 are probably glamorously rocking out together in this magical space. Bravestation will be performing select dates across Canada in celebration of 13th Floor and a forthcoming record. The single is out now on Culvert Music and can be purchased from iTunes.

New wave and synthpop make divine partners on Amadeus, a new single from Toronto’s Bravestation. Add to that glowing opulence some Brandon Flowers evoking vocals, an infusion of St. Lucia like glowing trop pop, plus a sliver of New Radicals reminiscent melodic hooks, and we have an utterly irresistibly swooning gem. Bravestation knock it right out of the ballpark with their first single of 2016, leaving me eager for what else they have planned this year. Amadeus is available as a single on iTunes.
