There’s an adorable new video out for Brave Shores’ Surfs Up, a light and playful treat off the Toronto based duo’s debut EP, Never Come Down, out now. The synthwavey beach pop song’s easy going vibe pairs nicely with the video’s blithe cartoon charm. Surfs Up has me yearning for languid summer days and nonchalant long afternoons frolicking on warm sandy beaches. Brave Shores’s debut EP is available on iTunes.

Toronto duo Brave Shores follow up excellent debut single Never Come Down with another vibrant and buoyant electropop single, Dancing Underwater, a frothy, bright eyed piece of luminous music. There’s a touch of Sleigh Bells to the noisy, buzzy tune, mixed with some The Naked and Famous endearing, gleaming alt style. Brave Shores’ Never Come Down EP drops next week, on October 28 in Canada! Revisit the electro-funky title track again below.

Yes, it’s another electropop moment, and yes, it’s another duo, but this time, the duo is from Toronto. I really must thank Brave Shores, aka siblings Jay and Stefanie McCarrol, for dropping their single Never Come Down into my inbox, because it’s such a refreshingly vibrant and sizzling hot song, full of energetic joyfulness and an uber catchy chorus. It mixes intoxicatingly fuzzy and noisy electronic production with a rocking bassline and guitars, not unlike some of HAIM’s music, particularly during the grooving hand clap moments. The electro house heavy segments of the tune are somewhat Daft Punk and Justice like, with copious amounts of electro-funk flair. Never Come Down is the title track off a forthcoming EP, and I’m eagerly waiting to hear more off it.
