BLU J, the fast rising electronic project whose two members hail from San Francisco and Vancouver, return after several months of silence holed away designing new rapturous soundscapes to give us a truly breathtaking original named Golden Dreams. The banality of daily life fades from our minds as the pair take us on a wondrous future bass journey, replete with

vistas and heart-stopping splendor. If this is indeed a dream, it’s as magnificent a fantasy as I’ve ever constructed while asleep, and I have some very vivid and detailed dreams, too. Golden Dreams is available for free, here.

Once San Francisco solo project BLU J, now a two piece also based out of Vancouver, has been one of our favorite fast rising production outfits this past year. They continue to place their skills on full display as they give also heavily buzzing project Shallows an opulent whirring, rich pumping deep future house treatment. The Los Angeles duo’s ravishing single Matter flitters between dark and light on this steely visceral remix. The magnificent transformation can also be streamed via Spotify, here.

Okay, I was already excited to see SNBRN at Coachella for his killer remixes but this new deep house track ‘You Got Me’ with Blu J featuring Cara Frew is fire.

Two front runners on my most exciting rising acts of 2016′s list cross paths as San Francisco’s own sonic thrillers, BLU J, give young Los Angeles starlet Billie Eilish a spellbinding makeover on the pair’s remix of her melancholic bewitching Six Feet Under. The edit, BLU J’s contribution to a Six Feet Under remix package that also features ace remixes by the likes of Gazzo, Jerry Folk, and Aire Atlantica, is an ethereal head dive into finely nuanced, buoyant bouncing future beats and deep house. Billie Eilish’s full Six Feet Under remixes EP is out now on iTunes via Darkroom / Interscope.

Both BLU J and Molly Moore have been ones on IHM’s artists to watch list for the past year. Los Angeles based actress and musician Molly Moore has been captivating us with her pop balladry while BLU J has left me thrilled every time I listened to the budding San Francisco producer’s vivid dance tracks. The two join up with Washington, D.C. production project Indiginis on Hallucinating, a florid entrancing future trap banger well worthy of such an ace combination of artists. BLU J and Indiginis’ production is astonishingly complex and detailed, classy and seamless, while Molly’s bewitching vocals have never been more fiercely charismatic. The track is self described as a “harmony heater” on Soundcloud. Words could never ring truer. Hallucinating is a free download, here.

BLU J straight “blu” me away with HDLCK. The producer from right here in San Francisco has quickly risen in the ranks of my producers to watch list in the past year, and he’s certainly reaching the crest with this magnificent take on Imogen Heap’s Headlock. Her unique voice has never been more bewitching in this fantasy world of deep future house that BLU J has constructed. There’s a distinct ZHU vibe going on as the track bounces and chops, simmers and ignites. HDLCK is a free download from Toneden.

Another sensational remix of A-Trak’s Phantogram featuring hit Parallel Lines has surfaced, and this time, its roots lie right here in the gorgeous Bay, too. San Francisco’s BLU J take us on a florescent reverie with the mysterious duo’s lithe bouncing, supple buoyant summer dance remix. The deep future house vibes are strong on this invigorating new rendition of the song, a dazzling soiree that ripples and jars in a gloriously sweeping manner. Who says vibrant can’t be meditative or rapturous can’t be ruminant? It’s a rather profound and exhilarating sort of dance party that BLU J ignites with this official re-work, which will be on the Parallel Lines remixes package out July 1st on A-Trak’s imprint Fool’s Gold. Head to iTunes to purchase the remix.
