It’s only been like a month since British art rock band Blaenavon released their excellent debut album That’s Your Lot, and they already have something new for us to enjoy. Not only that, they’ve partnered up with ever charismatic and charming French singer songwriter and actress Soko for a duet. No One Else In Mind is a tranquil soothing but mournfully pensive gem which was written during a December weekend in Paris. For a brief moment, I feel like I’m waltzing through the streets of Paris myself as this gentle lullaby, a subdued elixir for the soul, lures me through the City Of Light’s quaint alleyways and grand boulevards. No One Else In Mind is a heartbreaking and beautiful unexpected delight. The song can be purchased now from iTunes.

SXSW is a whirlwind week in Austin, and it’s jam packed with commitments, meetings, showcases to manage, and an endless list of immensely talented bands and musicians to catch. It’s simply impossible to do all the things you want to do, and still balance that with all the things you must do. As a result, I missed out on a lot of bands I adore, like Britain’s Blaenavon. Though I couldn’t take home with me a sure to be incredible experience of watching them perform, at least I get to enjoy the music video they shot in Texas while they were there. The trio pair their new Texan visuals with their song Lonely Side, a track from their acclaimed debut album That’s Your Lot. I can never resist the trio’s melodic lilting, sway inducing art rock. I sway and sway away yet again to their languid riffs and plump groovy bass. You can find links for streaming or purchasing Blaenavon’s debut album That’s Your Lot on their website, here.

We’ve been along for the Blaenavon ride for a whopping three plus years, yet these dapper British lads have yet to release a debut album, something we’ve certainly been craving for what seems an eternity. The band recently wrapped up their tour in the UK with a sold out show at London’s Scala, and they’ll be dropping their full length on April 7th. My heart pumps with excitement for That’s Your Lot as I sway to the melodic lilting art rock on Orthodox Man, a new single for which Blaenavon just revealed a music video. Blaenavon’s music has evoked the likes of Wild Beasts and Ramona Falls in the past. Orthodox Man, which is certainly far from ordinary, also boasts an irresistible chorus. Pre-order Blaenavon’s debut album That’s Your Lot from their website and you can receive an instant download of Orthodox Man.

Having enjoyed British trio Blaenavon’s music for well over three years, it comes as a surprise to this American that they’ve just announced their U.S. debut. Although I’ve never had the pleasure of catching the three piece live, I always assumed it was due to bad luck, or they just never made it to San Francisco. I guess you can say I’m quite excited that I might finally get to see the band within the next year.  Blaenavon’s first New York City shows are set for early November followed by a full North American tour in the new year. Come spring 2017, Blaenavon will also be releasing a long awaited debut album, from which comes lead single My Bark Is Your Bite. This melodic driving art rock song waxes bittersweet and beautiful, a Wild Beasts meets Ramona Falls sort of sleek polished gloom pop ballad. I’ll certainly be on the look out for more news about both the debut album and Blaenavon’s first U.S. tour. In the meantime, My Bark Is Your Bite is available via various outlets, here.

Continuing with the dope textured soundscapes with this woozy remix of British band Blaenavon’s Wunderkind by Darby from The Antlers, which premiered on Rolling Stone. If you recall, I was immensely taken by Blaenavon and their indie rock when I first stumbled upon them over the summer. They’ve since released their EP Koso on Transgressive. Wunderkind is off that EP, and The Antler’s remix is absolutely intoxicating. Listen to the beautiful Wild Beasts and Foals-esque original track below.

Continuing with the more down tempo music with this new one from British trio Blaenavon. If you recall, I stumbled upon these fellas back in the beginning of August and was immediately impressed by their music. As before, you can still detect a sound reminiscent of Foals, The Maccabees, and Wild Beasts in the new song Wunderkind, though it’s a far more gentle and demure track. As I said before, keep a watch on these guys. Wunderkind is the second track off their Koso EP due out on September 23 on Transgressive. Check out some of their other music below which I shared previously. These guys are good.

Blaenavon is a British trio with an EP titled Koso coming out on September 23 on Transgressive Records. Listen EP track and new single Prague, which shows these fellas have great potential. The indie rock tune sounds like a delicious blend of Foals, Wild Beasts, The Maccabees, and even a little Kings of Leon. Check out their single Into The Night from earlier this year via the music video below. The comparison to Foals and The Maccabees is even more apparent in this one. Into The Night is also a great song! Watch this band!

These guys can quiet it down really well too. Listen to the gorgeous, folksy Denim Patches and get ready to melt away:
