Years & Years aren’t the only ones to surprise us with a stunning music video this week. Bipolar Sunshine released a dark cinematic music video, too. And the LA based Manchester artist wades deeper into alt R&B and hip hop territory with his new song Easy To Do, too. It’s a slinky prowling, opaque skittering track that showcases a duskier side to Bipolar Sunshine’s sound. Easy To Do and its gripping video remind me of Sonder mixed with some Sampha. Bipolar Sunshine is working on his next EP, Imaginarium, and it sounds like it’s going to be quite the sonic expedition. Stream/purchase Easy To Do, here.

I’m sure I’ve said something similar before, but there’s nothing fickle about how much I love Bipolar Sunshine. There may be a lot in life that I am “bipolar” about, especially since I’m a Libra known for their indecisiveness and capriciousness, but if there’s one thing set in stone, it’s the fact that this UK artist has never failed to enamor us with his genre defying songs, whether by himself or alongside the likes of DJ Snake and Gryffin. Adia Merchant’s new single is aptly named “Major Love”, and it’s a flawless combination of soulful glowing R&B pop and airy playful electronica. You can snag Bipolar Sunshine’s warm infectious new gem, here.

There’s nothing bipolar or fickle about my love for Bipolar Sunshine, who’s been dazzling us from the UK for the past three years with his exquisite voice and his electro tinged, soulful pop. Adia Merchant renders me an aching mess with his new track which was written in response to the tragic event that recently transpired in his hometown of Manchester. Despite its heavy sorrow, Tears carries an uplifting message of strength and healing. In his own words: “I wrote this for Manchester, my home town after hearing the news. RIP to everyone who has lost life in this conflict, prayers and blessings to everyone in the city. We will overcome this together, don’t let them divide us.“

Are You Happy is the name of Bipolar Sunshine’s new single, and I could confidently respond that I’m more than happy, considering it’s been ages since we’ve last heard from the UK artist. In fact, it’s been half a year since that golden Gryffin collaboration, Whole Heart, too. Are You Happy is the Brit pop sensation’s stateside debut. As always, he lifts us up with his “sunshine” on the glowing, triumphant track. A bit of bitter twinge laces Are You Happy’s underbelly, but its near ameliorated by the lustrous sweeping magnificence of the song. If you’re feeling a little downcast from the spring rains assaulting the Bay right now, just throw on this gem and all is well. Alternate stream of Are You Happy can be found via Soundcloud below.

Gryffin’s Josef Salvat collaboration, Heading Home, is still hotly buzzing and oft mentioned on my social feeds despite the fact that it’s been out for some time now, but the production whiz has a brand new treat for us to obsess over. This time around, the producer has partnered up with UK artist Bipolar Sunshine on a beautifully uplifting, warm fuzzy feels filled anthem named Whole Heart. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard the two’s sounds co-mingle. After all, Gryffin presented us with a stellar remix of Bipolar Sunshine’s Daydreamer last year. Their new original together is rhapsodic stirring and smooth mellifluous anthem for the end of summer. Snag the song from iTunes.

DJ Snake’s Bipolar Sunshine featuring dance anthem Middle gets a jolting deep house re-work, courtesy of Sammy Porter. The producer breathes new life into me on this long and eventful Tuesday with the remix, which takes the dreamy original and turns it into a jouncing buffet of invigorating energy. Entrancing high hats and Bipolar Sunshine’s vitric vocals add to the drive of the lively thrilling track.  Download Sammy Porter’s remix, here.

I’ve certainly enjoyed UK artist Bipolar Sunshine’s sun kissed, bright alt pop music over the past year. He’s here to delight my ears yet again with new single Daydreamer, which I instantly fell in love with. It’s so superbly catchy and radiant, with hints of tropical flavor and tribal imbued percussion rooted in the production, which was, by the way, crafted by a certain fella named SBTRKT. It’s not as dark as we’re used to from SBTRKT, but it’s very recognizably him. I’d say it’s the perfect match up and possibly one of Bipolar Sunshine’s best songs so far.

Shifting gears away from my trappy prior features and moving into more smooth, groovy territory with this chic, lush Bipolar Sunshine tune, Future (Part 1), which features buzzing rapper Goldlink. It doesn’t get much more sleeker than this divine disco infused, opulent jam. I’ll be playing this one many times over while waiting to hear what Future (Part 2) might be, whenever that’s coming along from the UK’s Bipolar Sunshine, aka Adio Merchant.
