Hold on to your hats as we dive deep into this next dazzling sonic treat, a remix of Bingo Players’ Cry by A-Trak and DiscoTech. If you’re wondering if you lost a marble somewhere because you already remember a wicked Cry remix that involved A-Trak, don’t fret. A-Trak did indeed team up with Phantoms on a funkalicious edit previously, but this time around he’s gone future house with DiscoTech. A-Trak wants to give us a full spectrum of Cry, and I have no reason to complain.I want to listen to A-Trak and DiscoTech’s high flying, future funky remix in a room full of trampolines, if that makes any sense. Download the track for free, here.

I know this one’s a heavy hitter to be sharing late on a Monday night, but as many of you probably had a killer Memorial Day Weekend, it’s only proper to close it out with a banger. Dutch production act Bingo Players is, apparently, holding a remix competition for his track Nothing To Say, and San Diego’s Sulvida turned in an intoxicating, slamming trap remix that has me grinning ear to ear and wishing I could do the long weekend all over again. The high energy remix alternates between bubbly radiance and ominous tenseness in the most electrifying manner. You can vote for Sulvida’s remix in the Bingo Players competition, here.

Continuing this block of awesome, energetic remixes (hey, it’s Friday!) with this new one by San Francisco producer Flaxo, whom I’ve featured many a time in the past with much delight. His latest is a remix of Bingo Players’ hit EDM track Knock You Out. As before, his track is grippingly good, start to finish, with its buoyant blend of electro house and trap flavors. It’s a massive banger, perhaps his most massive yet, and a perfect way to ring in the weekend.

Martin Solveig’s mini mix for BBC Radio 1 Annie Mac

June 7, 2012

Here’s a great five minute mini mix Martin Solveig threw together for BBC Radio 1 a short while ago. It’s a banging mix that’ll get you moving and hyped up fa sho. Mr. Solveig’s mix includes the following great artists in order of appearance, all mashed into a wee little few minutes: Franz Ferdinand, Erol Alkan, Gwen Stefani, Martin Solveig, A-Trak, Duck Sauce, Dada Life, Daft Punk, Dragonette, Idoling!!!, TV Noise, The Beatles, Britney Spears, Bingo Players, Skrillex, Wolfgang Gartner, DJ Mehdi, Thomas Bangalter, Knife Party, Madonna, Woodkid, M.I.A., Labrinth, Madeon.  Epic, no? And guess who caught a FEW of those artists at BFD in the Subsonic Tent just a few days ago? *ahem ahem* That’s right, Dragonette and Knife Party KEEEEELED it. The man just finished DJing the MTV Movie Awards, which I caught belated on my DVR the other night. Of course, the people dancing along behind him on the broadcast had headbands on, true to the spirit. Big thanks to DJ Blondie K of FringeSF for sharing the mini mix on a music sharing Facebook group we’re on earlier today, otherwise I might not have noticed this at all. Is it Friday yet? What? No? That’s OK, I have shows every night AGAIN till the weekend so it’s all good. 😉
