Ben E King’s 1960s hit Stand By Me is always going to be a timeless classic. It’s so sweetly melting, and tenderly swaying. Skylar Grey, the prolific artist who’s been amazing both as a solo artist and as a writer/collaborator with the biggest music stars in the world, offers up a gorgeous cover of the song, and it’s absolutely breathtaking. Apparently, the cover was done for a Super Bowl commercial. It’s not often we get to see this side of Skylar Grey, stripped back and raw, acoustic and vulnerable. It’s a flawless cover. You can grab the single, here.

If you haven’t heard the new Florence + The Machine songs floating about off of the Final Fantasy XV soundtrack, they’re drop dead gorgeous. They make me want to throw my arms out and cavort through the air barefoot, like the free celestial spirit that Florence Welch always seems to be. All three tracks boast plenty of fluttering harp, something I can’t help but gravitate towards. Too Much Is Never Enough is the most popular of the trio so far. Stream the dazzling beauty above. Florence waxes poetic and wistful on the breathtaking baroque pop gem as she tends to do. Also on the soundtrack is an exquisite cover of Ben E King classic Stand By Me and a cinematic twinkling orchestral aria named I Will Be, both of which can be streamed below. The whole bevy of regal splendorous tunes can be purchased as Songs From Final Fantasy XV on iTunes.

Continuing this short little block of killer throwback remixes with a radiant reboot of another old tune that I’ll love till the end of time. Ben E. King’s ever endearing, must sing along classic, Stand By Me, goes electro disco progressive on this incandescent and majestic remix by Los Angeles’ Justin Caruso. It’s an enrapturing tribute to an iconic song and an influential American artist who passed away just earlier this year. RIP, Benny. Download the remix, here.

I’ll always have a special place in my heart for oldie but goodie Ben E. King classic Stand By Me, having grown up loving the song. It’s a timeless heart warming gem, sure to be cherished till the end of days. Canadian producer Shèmce gives the tune a deep tropical hue on this delightful, relaxing remix. There’s always been such a sweet, honeyed quality to the song, and Shèmce’s islandy remix brings that out even more. This would be the perfect jam to party to on a honeymoon or during a romantic trip in a tropical paradise.

New on my map is Andrew Judah, a singer songwriter from Canada with a wonderful sound that blends folksy pop, orchestral pop, baroque pop, freak folk, and cinematic rock. It’s a sound that I easily gravitate towards, being a fan of recently buzzing and somewhat similar acts like Lo-Fang, Fyfe, and Son Lux. Morning Light is his latest haunting, lush single, and it’s off his forthcoming full length album Monster, slated for release come September. It’s dramatic, theatrical, and quite the mesmerizing, darkly tinted track. Check out Andrew Judah’s impressive cover of classic Ben E. King song Stand By Me below, too.
