For better or for worse, we live in a material world where “money talks”. But we also live in a world where a Los Angeles outfit like BEGINNERS can enthrall us with their rousing music on new single Let That Money Talk, so it can’t be all that bad, right? All money worries fade away for the moment as BEGINNERS douses us with gently glowing, softly edged electro-pop on their seductive sparkling new tune, which is lifted from their forthcoming album CREAM, due out this summer. Samantha of BEGINNERS explains: “I spent a shocking amount of 2017 inside of Jumbo’s Clown Room, an iconic LA strip club.  Somehow the night always led me back there; often with a girl who I was desperately infatuated with.  It was exhilarating and tortuous spending night after night in such a sexually charged environment, yet always winding up alone.  I wrote ‘Let That Money Talk’ after one of these long nights.  There was a metaphoric magic between the unrequited love of customer to dancer, and myself to this girl. Always given just enough to want more.” It all seems like a tragic love story, but beautifully told on this aureate glistening song. A tinge of melancholy can be felt in its warm blustering synths and brassy mournful flares. Let That Money Talk is available from iTunes, here. Those in LA can catch BEGINNERS at School Night tonight! Details, here.

Neon Gold signed Los Angeles quartet BEGINNERS are proving themselves a rising pop band to watch as they continue to dish out some vibrant twirling, edgy hooking earworms. Stereo is a new taste from the band’s sophomore EP, due out September 16th, and its one addictive indie pop jam. BEGINNERS explains that the song is an ode to the love of records, a tribute to the contentment and freedom you feel when you’re dancing alone to a great record. I suppose it’s only fitting that many of us are probably doing exactly the same to the sounds of BEGINNERS, right now. Stereo’s brisk arpeggios, glitchy electro charm, and sassy vocals lend themselves well to inspiring much ecstatic dancing.

Los Angeles quartet BEGINNERS reel me in with their sizzling hot new electro pop twirler Gangsters Or Lovers, a taste from the Neon Gold signed outfits’ Pleaser EP, out September 16th. Gangster Or Lovers’ jaunty spirit and pulsating briskness are wildly contagious. Don’t be surprised if you’re not dancing all around your room by the time you’re done with this song. After all, “round, round, round we go”. There’s a spunky flair to this stylish jam that evokes some of my favorite Scandipop acts, like Elliphant and MØ, with an extra dose of fizzy carbonation. It leaves me very excited to hear more from their forthcoming EP.

OFFICIAL VID: Slow Club – Beginners

June 19, 2012

Not only is there a new video from beloved indie folk pop duo Slow Club, but Beginners stars the one and only Harry Potter… er.. I mean, Daniel Radcliffe. He joins the ranks of the many awesome celebrity lip sync videos. Those never seem to fail to entertain and strike some odd, resonant chord within everyone. The song itself is a sultry, more vintage sounding ditty from English duo. It’s a polished song compared to some of the old Slow Club songs that first shot them into the limelight. And it’s good, too!
